“I can’t say enough good things about Forgotten Felines. Their cause is extremely important to reduce the feral cat population in Sonoma county with care. All the people I met at FF were beyond amazing.I had a stressful issue with my cat during the trip there. Every person at FF came to the rescue and were so kind and helpful. I’ll never forget the graciousness of all that helped me and Moon. Many of the staff are volunteers with much passion and believe in what they do.I donated additional funds and will continue to do so. I am also donating household goods and clothing to their wonderful Pick of the Litter thrift store in Santa Rosa. Many thanks Forgotten Felines!”

“I discovered the center when I first arrived in Santa Rosa. I can't describe the feeling exactly, but walking into the center made me feel joy, excitement, and that I'd found home. It reminds me of old Portland! I'm donating to help the center survive the pandemic and I hope you do too.”

“I went in skeptical and came out smiling. This was such a fun weekend. We know the area well and are in Healdsburg a lot, so I was pretty sure it would just be same old, same old on steroids. Wrong. First, with 45 wineries to choose from, we made sure to go to ones we didn't know and were delightfully surprised. Second, every winery puts on a tremendous effort with wine selections, food, and entertainment. And third, but definitely not least - there is a sublime friendliness in the air. It comes from the winery hosts, as well as the guests who are visiting. Enjoying the exquisite weather, drinking delicious wine, and sampling foods designed to augment the wine you're drinking - in beautiful surroundings - who wouldn't be friendly?! We met folks, we listened to music, we bought some wine and met winemakers and chefs for two days of California wine bliss. We'd do it again in a heartbeat. Favorite finds were Mauritson - boy did they put on the dog. We discovered their reasonably priced, delicious sauv blanc they paired with a delicious buffalo cauliflower dish. Their reds were matched with an amazing cassoulet and divine french dip sandwich. Of course, the food was prepared by Charlie Palmer's team, and the Chef himself was there to sign his new cookbook. We also loved Truett Hurst with its beautiful patio and their simply awesome Salmon Run Rose and Red Rooster Zin. The Red Rooster barrel tasting was fun and a great learning experience. We wrapped up one day at Fritz which is a treat with their Cave, fine wines, and tremendous hospitality. They have a remarkable view from their deck and the round tasting room is unique and charming. Day two ended for us at Seghesio in Healdsburg in their elegant grounds. There was good music, and an incredible shrimp risotto plus homemade sausage sandwiches. Calm and beautiful with a final taste of their excellent Zin was the perfect ending to a great event.”

“We are obsessed with the Sonoma Land Trust. They exist to protect the land and conserve nature and wildlife. We go as often as we can and always bring friends. They offer community activities that are amazing and family-friendly. Our favorites are the outings and events which occur regularly out on the land. From the website: From mountain treks to botany crawls, bird watching to kayaking, there are many ways to join us on the land. We also offer lectures and events throughout the year where you can spend time with a community of people dedicated to preserving the land. If you join the Land Trust as a member you can go on their member-only hikes, which sometimes include hiking on properties that are closed to the public which makes them feel even more special. The public hikes are also informative and a ton of fun, even for kids, we went on a family hike that included learning to do wildlife tracking using animal footprints. Membership doesn't cost much, it's totally worth it, and it's such a great cause to support. Their website isn't listed on Yelp so here it is. The Bay Area is beautiful. Enjoy!”

“Generally, very happy with everybody we have hired and we use this service a lot. One criticism in the face of coronavirus though. These guys need to be provided with masks and be told to use them when interfacing with clients.”

“My sister. who is severely handicapped, has gone to BI since its inception over 40 years ago. She loves going there and if anyone is not good to her she would let me know. It makes her heart sing. She looks forward to going back when in-person services are available. I emphasize with the parents who have written the other reviews who feel that that their children are not getting what they would hope post their school system experience. As a former high-up school system administrator, please understand the BI gets about 25% of the revenue to serve you child that the schools receive. BI's employees don't have the salary, benefits, retirement system of the schools so BI cannot retain them in the same way. This is not to say that you should not want your child to flourish as an adult. But there is only so much BI can be expected to do under the circumstances. I think that BI is fundamentally a good organization and hope that you, like me, will donate to it. It is the best option available that I know of in the market it serves.”

“Everyone has to realize the women working here- are volunteering their time and energy to be there. They are not getting paid. The proceed go to scholarship funds. The store has some cute items, but just like any thrift store, you'll have to browse for everything. It smells a like old dusty times & clothes because (gasp!) they are! Everything has been donated. The workers aren't going to go and wash the clothes again. So let's please show these hardworking volunteers some grace. The volunteers are all very sweet and cute. They are friendly and try their best to help. The store has been reorganized and separated to clothing, household goods, etc. Whenever I'm in town, I like to browse and usually find something good.”

“The best crab feed in the US!!! I've had this event on my bucket list and I finally had an opportunity to attend. It did not disappoint. The event starts in the hall of flowers with 2 hours of food, wine and beer tasting along with a silent auction and live music. Next comes the main event...the amazing crab feed dinner. I would recommend reserving a table of 10 as it is a fantastic experience. It may be a bit pricey but well worth the splurge. I am already looking forward to next year's event.”

“I'm a big fan of the German School! My wife and daughter both attend and I get to hang out with several other native German speakers while I wait for them. You really get a great sense of community if you just choose to hang out. They have great events throughout the year as well. I would recommend checking it out some Saturday to see if it's right for you. When we got involved we just came in for a Saturday and my daughter got to hang out with the other kids in class without any obligation. Great Place!!!”
