“Loved this hotel! If you don't need AC, if a ceiling fan will do, request Building A right on the river! (They also have another building with AC). It's near quaint old town Basalt and a short walk to the bus stop to catch the tricked out busses to Glenwood and to Aspen!”

“I had made a mistake in my Expedia booking - it booked for Sunday Dec 1 instead of Nov 30. Rachel at the front desk and Carlos the manager worked tirelessly until the matter was resolved. THANK YOU”
“I've stayed here twice. The first time I was walking by and saw the vacancy sign. I walked in and Manish enthusiastically and proudly showed me the room they had available. I assumed he was the owner. I told him I had to check with my daughter because she was in charge of this trip. She had an art show at the ArtBase and I thought we might need another night. (We were staying at another place at the time.)
We ended up staying and meeting Sapna, Manish's wife and her brother. They were just so kind and hospitable. They invited me into their quarters. It was then I learned their story and that they were the managers, not the owners. I was even more impressed because they went so above and beyond. They treated us like family, giving the baby treats and cuddles. And pulling out a pack n play for the baby.
This last trip to Basalt, we stayed 3 nights with them. Again, their generosity of spirit is so rare and infectious. There was a problem with our rental truck and we didn't know if we were going to be able to take all the art back to Castle Rock. They sincerely offered to hold anything we would need until we could get back to Basalt. Plus, they offered to put our food in their fridge until we could head down the mountain.
Basalt Mountain Inn is special because of Manish and Sapna. May God bless you both.
Walkability: It is downtown and I recommend Heather's for lunch and dinner”
