“Can't say enough good things about this place. The owners are wonderful people. We stayed in their largest cabin back in December of 2025. We had a total of fifteen people occupying their largest cabin up on top of the hill. Our stay was nothing short of incredible. O-Bar-O helped make an already memorable trip even MORE memorable for the Gohlke family. Hopefully we will be back sooner rather than later!”
“Such a cute motel. Clean and beautifully decorated and appointed. Staff is the best. Brianna in the office drew a picture of our dog for us and she was so helpful. Location of motel is close to everything.”
“Everyone was nice and friendly the hotel was extremely clean the breakfast was wonderful and I'm not a breakfast person and we were there on a Wednesday and they had free from 5 to 6:30 wine beer and a small eats available”
“Changed my rating after speaking with the hotel.
I appreciate the fact they have a working pool and hot tub each time I’ve gone. The rooms are immaculate. Breakfast is pretty decent for a hotel of this tier. The staff are friendly enough at check in and also when inquiring about a late check out, which was given. 24/7 hot coffee, tea and I think hot cocoa.
The location is great. On the eastern outskirts of Durango, so you don’t get as many problems from the homeless who reside further in town/downtown. I never worry about parking my car here.
The downside: A staff member mistakenly extended my stay and attempted to charge a locked debit card multiple times, as well as call me at 7am the day after I checked out. Something to be aware of, I would check out in person at this hotel instead of leaving your key in the room and departing. Some retraining needs to take effect because if my card was unlocked, I would have had to wait a week to get that money back.
Security deposit takes up to 5 days to be returned. Idk if they do cash deposits, but if the deposit return wait is a concern of yours, I would also inquire about that at check in.
Plenty of spaces for the doggo to relieve himself and have sniffaris. Also had a jar of milk bones in the lobby, free to take some for ur pupper.”

“I can't compliment this place enough. For those who hate waking up with the sun peeking through the curtains, the interior rooms are a dream come true. The elevator takes you to another time. The on site library is a wonder to browse (smell the old books). The service was wonderful, we rolled our suitcases up to the stairs and someone came out right away to help. There's an entrance without stairs but it's on the other side of the building from the parking lot. The downtown area has a ton of shops and snack/coffee places to see”
“I have stayed at about a dozen hotels in Durango, we chose the hotel for walkability and were surprised with the clean room and excellent staff. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient, take advantage of checking in online for a smooth check in. We arrived about 4:45 for an overnight stay, got settled and enjoyed a complimentary beverage at their happy hour. The bartender was great, very fun to chat with. This hotel is convenient to downtown, we walked to Anarchy Brewing and Steamworks for dinner. The room was clean and both of us were very pleased with the shower having great pressure and hot water (it's the little things). We booked a king with a balcony, there really is no view from the balconies but fresh air was a nice perk. We had no issues with noise from the atrium, the hotel had a large group of teenage hikers and still no noise issues. This will be our place to stay when we are going to Durango.”

“This place was spectacular. We had a rough check in but the next day Jake really made our week. He was very informative and very hospitable. Thank you for making our family group enjoy our stay. We will be back soon.”
“EXCELLENT Customer Service! Each day of our stay, the staff called our room to see if everything was going well, and if we needed anything. Checking was quick and easy. Breakfast was a great selection with friendly staff who make you feel welcome. The rooms are large and clean and modern.
It is also beside the Animas River, so nice to be close to walking paths.”

“Brought my mom out from Illinois to ride the train. Found this little quaint, young family owned motel. I gave high starts because they were super friendly, very accommodating and willing to even help unload our car. That kind of customer service is rare! It's clean and retro/vintage. Close to several restaurants and driving to anywhere didn’t take long. A nice little picnic area too! I would definitely stay here again!

“Solid choice for families on a budget. Kids had space to run around and the kitchen setup let us do breakfast in the room before heading out each day. Only downside was the walls are a bit thin but honestly expected that for the price.”

“Rooms were fine, except they backed up to an alley or parking lot. We opened the bathroom window since there was no fan, and someone walked by just a few feet from it. Parking was difficult on a busy weekend. Breakfast was decent. The staff members were friendly enough.”
“I spent 6 months at Spanish trails and would recommend to anyone needing a short to long term place to stay .johnny the maintance manager is a highlight and blessing as he goes out of his way and excels at his job of keeping the entire facility a clean and a safe environment for all the residents and maintains an exemplary standard in all aspects of his duties. again a big thank you for being a superstar”

“wasn't in room much, I wasn't expecting alot. Clean NEW bathroom, bed was soft and squishy, floors new, new paint. The entire room looked so clean and fresh. I would def stay here again. I stayed in the womens hostel. For the price it was a great deal.”
“Our stay was great! The location is perfect with being able to walk to Main Street. Lola’s is right next door and a great place to grab food, drinks, or coffee in the morning. It’s a cute place with a patio to enjoy the outdoors. The communication from booking to checking out was exceptional. All pertinent information was sent and checking in was a breeze. The room was clean and had everything we needed. There is parking in the back thankfully! It is an older building so be ready for thin walls and creaky floors. With the perfect location close to Main Street, parking, a restaurant next door, the great communication, and charm of an older building. . . We will be back.”
