“One of my favorite bookstores in Colorado. Every time I’m in Estes I come to stroll through the books here. They have a wide selection, a cozy feel, and some fun little trinkets and things.”
“It was my first time visiting Estes Park. There was so much to see and do. The shops were just adorable, but I came across the window display of Colorado Homestead, and saw this beautiful Breast Cancer Awareness blanket, I knew I had to stop. Anne, I believe to be one of the owners told me that the blanket I wanted was not for sale, It had been made by her and her granddaughter. I was disappointed because I’m the survivor, and wanted it as a milestone reminder. When I shared that with Anne, she proceeded to go take it out the window, I asked ”Are you going to sale it to me?” She said, “no.”, as she continued moving things around to get it down. When she finally got it loose, she handed it to me and said, “I’m going to give it to you.” I burst into tears. It is a moment I’ll never forget. Please support their shop. There were so many beautiful things to buy. I’m glad I made a purchase because my bag broke and the business card got lost, but I had my receipt from my purchase .Thank you Anne for making a great memory in a beautiful place.”
Barnes & Noble is proving that physical bookstores aren't going anywhere. The retailer just opened three new locations across Texas and South Carolina, marking another step in its comeback story. Barnes & Noble opened 57 stores in 2024 alone - more than it had opened in the entire decade from 2009 to 2019. The company isn't slowing down either, with plans to open more than 60 new stores in 2025 and a goal of reaching over 1,000 stores nationwide in the coming years.
