“UPDATE: I previously posted a negative review because I was frustrated with the process of trying to get a quote for generator service. Since then, Cummins has changed to a flat-rate pricing model for RV generator service, and my recent experience was completely different, in a very positive way.
I brought my RV to Cummins for the 1,000-hour service on my generator. Travis initially helped me and was very friendly and helpful. Carlos, the generator technician, came out and personally looked at the generator and discussed the work with me.
On my RV, the generator has to be dropped from the coach to perform the 1,000-hour service, so this is a fairly involved job. They were able to get me in earlier than expected, completed the service very well, and the final price was very reasonable.
While doing the work, they also determined that the generator's water pump needed replacement (I had asked them to check it). Since the generator was already out, they replaced the water pump without charging any additional labor — I only paid for the part. I really appreciated that.
For comparison, I had previously received a quote from Transwest for the same 1,000-hour generator service that was approximately double the cost.
Based on this most recent experience, I would highly recommend Cummins for RV generator service. The pricing was fair, the work was done well, and both Travis and Carlos were great to work with.”
