Amazon coordinated a pickup time for a large item that I wasn’t able to accommodate and here I am with a large/heavy object to schlep to ups (with a bum knee no less).
I called ahead as the box the item came in was a bit damaged and needed some doctoring before it went out. Robbie answered the phone with a smile in his voice and confirmed not only was he happy to help me get the item into their store he’d also help re-box the item.
Upon arrival I went in and asked for Robbie and he was quick to help me unload my car of not only the item but also the oversized box. He had remembered my call earlier today and did everything he could to ensure my dream of getting the package boxed/shipped came true.
By the time I moved my car and walked back in the item was boxed up and pretty much ready to go & I was offered a receipt.

I submitted a claim online and the next morning Sue called me and let me know she was going to go out and check our shared mailbox and parcel lockers. “Update: the postmaster called me and apologized about my experience. Between her and the other employees they worked hard to correct things and I've had zero issues since. As humans we will make mistakes, but what matters is how they accept responsibility and take feedback as a learning experience. And they sure did! Thank you!!!
I cannot believe how atrocious this post office is. Never had issues until recently. They used to leave packages on our porch but refuse to now and when we go to pick them up from them which is wildly inconvenient for us they have no idea where the package is or what happened to it. They shove packages into our mailbox and destroy them. I used to be a big supporter of USPS but the Lyons post office provides the worst experience and I am at a loss for what to do going forward with getting packages.”
