“We cannot say enough wonderful things about the care our senior dog Grover received at Animal General, especially from Dr. Haley Guhn-Knight.

Dr. Haley was compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly listened to all of our concerns. She always took the time to explain everything in a way we could understand and made sure we felt informed every step of the way. I have honestly never met a veterinarian more invested in their patient. Even during her personal time, she would respond to emails and send us studies and information regarding the infectious disease that unfortunately took Grover’s life.

She also went above and beyond to make Grover comfortable during his exams — getting down on the floor with him, laying out yoga mats and blankets, and treating him with so much kindness and dignity.

Although we ultimately had to say goodbye to Grover, we are so grateful for everything Dr. Haley did for him and for our family during such a difficult time.

“We have been coming here for years. The office has always been very responsive, willing to answer questions, and able to fit us in within a timely manner.

We have a nervous dog who can be reactive. This is not the first vet office to manhandle our boy, but it is the first to insist on a muzzle. We assumed these were things we simply had to expect with our growly barky man. The care has always been efficient, although perhaps not always compassionate.

I am leaving this review because I never expected that my reactive pup could ever have a positive visit to a vet. Dr. Walker showed me otherwise.

This was our first time meeting her, as she's a relatively new addition, and she is quite literally wonderful: she entered the room slowly, gave my dog space, and spent at least the first 5 minutes down on the floor with him to build his comfort and confidence. She did not rush us. There were no muzzles. There was no growling or barking. She let me hold him during his vaccinations and gave me clear instructions on how to do so properly.

Dr. Walker, thank you so very much for your genuine care, and for showing me that it is possible to find a compassionate vet for my sweet albeit nervous boy. You are in the absolutely right field.”

“The folks who do this should try to be MORE friendly, welcoming AND informative. We left without the rabies document and I had to have my husband go back and ask how we get that. That is when we learned it would be emailed. I didn't know I had to go to the register to pay. The whole thing was a mystery until I asked the questions and then they answered. Nothing was volunteered or helpful until they were asked. They basically answered questions as to what we were doing after they were asked. Just a suggestion as to how to make the visit with a stressed pet less stressful.”
