“Met with new vet to try to determine what might be causing 13 year old Bichon need to pee all the time. she explained that since he was on antibiotics we need to wait for additional testing until all the antibiotics are done and then wait another 5 days. Will be coming back for either an x-ray or an ultrasound to determine if he has bladder stones.Dr. Renee Hartshorn, DVM was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. Our experience was very positive. Her care and concern was what you look for in a vet. In making a change from Dr. Mooney we are pleased she is taking over where he left off.”

“Dr. Korten had provided my family's animals with compassionate and REALISTIC care for 15+ years. He is best suited for the practical pet owner and will never sell you, or guilt you into, any type of care or treatment he doesn't consider critical to the well-being of your pet. Imagine your loved one is on hospice... would you want to subject them to treatments that won't alter the outcome, or instead, would you make the person comfortable until then? I believe Dr. Korten has the same approach-- treat what can be treated, accept what cannot. That's a hard one for some pet parents to accept, but I appreciate the simplicity and directness of his approach.That being said, this clinic is not Tufts University Vetinary School of Medicine. Dr. Korten is the animal medicine equivalent of your family doctor, and in my opinion, is not supposed to be a specialist of all conditions. If you find something wasn't working, ask for a referral to higher care.”

“Hopefully not too lengthy of a post. I adopted with MKK that partners with this vet. I went in the first time and it was a little chaotic. I was told at intake that my kittens didn't have their rabies shots and that it would be required along with a vaccine check. I had no choice, asked what the cost would be as I had two that morning of my total of for. I got a text and it said $264/cat. At that point I reached out to the MKK team and was upset and felt that it should have been disclosed at adoption. MKK assured me that I would pay nothing and the rabies shots are covered with the surgeries. I went back today, 2/8/2024 with my other two, no fault of my own I mixed up the date and I felt horrible. Even if you THINK you know the appointment details listen to the vm and read the reminder email. Heather and team were on top of it quickly and they were able to fit them, I am grateful. Now I will add while going through my own moment I saw across the room another women was checking in her pet for surgery and the employee advised that the pet was missing a vaccine and the woman stated quite firmly that she did not want the pet to have a vaccine because they were having anesthesia, fair concern. The employee again stated and was interrupted and the woman said the pet was here for surgery and the vaccine can be done post surgery. I was in my car when the woman walked to her cat with the pet screaming the "f" word at the top of her lungs regardless of who was around. I don't think there was anything wrong with her ask, behavior meh, she was upset, I get it. But it reminded me of my first visit at this vet and being told you need rabies and we can't do anything without it. You feel obligated, without a choice. It should be stated ahead of the surgery, I figured my situation was unique until I saw this unfold. I am embarrassed that I hollered at MKK, it is a Salmon Brook problem. If this didn't unfold, 5 stars all the way, great staff, but 4 because of the lack of disclosure.”

“My sweet cat, who is a rescue from St Thomas, needed to have oral surgery. Needless to say I was very concerned as the surgery requires anesthesia in addition to the tooth extraction itself. It was my first experience with a pet having surgery of any kind. Everything went well and my cat didn’t exhibit any issues after surgery. I was very relieved and so happy we were at Farmington Animal Hospital. They were fantastic.”

“I have to sound off about this today. I have used this practice for 20+ years and have always had great experiences with the care I've received. It's a great practice with great staff and I would recommend them highly Lately however....I've had some emergencies arise with my elderly pets, and have been unable to be seen by them because they are " booked solid" I think they need to leave openings for regular patients that need them on short notice, rather than sending people off to an ER vet. I'd rather pay an emergency visit at my own office than go to a clinic that has no prior knowledge of my animal Feeling a little disappointed with the office about this”

“Dr Leshem is truly a master of his craft, very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. My 8 yr old dog was limping and it was determined that he suffered a significant CCL tear with possible meniscus issues. Dr Leshem performed an evaluation in January and was confident that with the surgery my dog would be running and hiking with me again by June. We elected to use Dr Leshem for the surgery and we are so glad we did. He repaired the full CCL tear and a portion of the meniscus. Although the mobility limitations and physical therapy were tough for both us and my dog, his surgery was a resounding success. We followed Dr Lesham's post op direction exactly as noted on the documents and I am sure this played a huge role in my dog's surgical success. He was able to go on long hikes at the end of June without any limping or noticeable mobility issue. In fact as of Aug he was also able to go on long runs (5 miles) at a 11 minute mile pace. I would recommend Dr Leshem and his team for anyone requiring surgical intervention on their dog.”

“I've been brining my pets to PAW since I moved into the area. I think they do a wonderful job and I'm always confident that my pet is getting the best care. I've never been handed a huge bill with them unnecessarily running tests like some others have mentioned here. They're always upfront about any tests they need to run. One of my dogs had a dental procedure done, and after having other pets having similar procedures done at other practices, I can honestly say whatever they did seemed to be more thorough and complete.”

“I had done some research and asked my Vet if an MRI would give me the answers I needed to why my 4 year old Dachsund was dragging his rear leg. X-rays didn't tell us anything. The staff at Companion MRI treated my dog as if he was their own. They are so friendly and walk you thru every step. The results were super quick and they found a herniated disc in his lower back. My Vet was able to do surgery correctly and on the right area of the spine and I'm happy to say he is walking and feeling great! The price for MRI was over $1000!!! cheaper than anywhere else that I checked. Highly recommend.”

“I was referred to Canton Animal Hospital by a friend after my vet retired. Dr. Goldman and all of the staff are absolutely wonderful. Dr. Goldman is kind and knowledgeable, explained my cat’s symptoms and possible diagnosis in a way that was easy to understand, and even offered multiple courses of action to determine next best steps for treatment. He was gentle and caring. Everyone was friendly and made me and my kitty feel so welcome. I would recommend this vet to any of my friends and their fur babies!”

“Dr Marcie Fallek has been amazing for our Luna who is a 5 year old black lab. Luna diagnosed with nasal cancer in October 2018. We started noticing issues around May 2018 and never expected it to be a cancer diagnosis, she was only 3 years old. We had a biopsy done, got the diagnosis and got an appointment at the Radiation Oncologist as quick as we could. The oncologist was amazing, she was very thorough and honest about the treatment and prognosis. At the end of our appointment we asked point blank will we lose Luna to this cancer and she told us yes, we can't cure this. Radiation would hopefully give us more time, although the doctor couldn't guarantee it. She told us the average life expectancy post radiation was 2 to 18 months (could be longer, could be shorter). Without treatment we'd likely lose her sooner rather than later. We felt that if we are going to lose her anyway it didn't seem right of us to put her through the radiation and chance the side affects knowing she would ultimately succumb to this disease. We came across Dr Fallek online, scheduled an appointment and drove 2 1/2 hours to meet with her and it was so worth it. She has treated Luna holistically with homeopathic and holistic treatments since shortly after diagnosis. This month we celebrate +22 months of life with Luna. That is 20 months we didn't expected to have her. Dr Fallek's prescribed treatment helps manage her symptoms and any pain. Sadly the mass has grown, which we knew would happen. We believe it's grown slower than it may have if we'd done nothing and we know in our hearts having Dr Fallek in her life has given her and us many wonderful months, days, moments to make beautiful memories. “I brought my pup for a bath and a haircut at Petco of Avon for his scheduled time at 1:15. The young man at grooming immediately took him in, and we discussed how short he should go. He also wanted to see his most up to date Rabies vaccine. He said he would call me when he's ready in around three hours.So I went around town to do some errands. I got the call around 4:00 that he's ready and I could pick him up. I couldn't wait to see his fresh new summer haircut!I was so, so very embarrassed with what the groomer told me. He said they couldn't cut around his face, he was way too aggressive. He really isn't an aggressive dog at all. He's had most of his teeth removed, so couldn't be aggressive by biting.I thought they did a great job on his body, and he smelled so fresh and clean. His head was a bit uneven because he was wiggly. They didn't charge me for this haircut, that was pretty embarrassing too, they worked on him for a long time. They didn't even want to accept my tip. I truly appreciate their honesty and their hard work. I'm going to work on fixing the unevenness my self.I recommended Petco of Avon even if I won't be returning here. They are hard working and honest. If your pup could sit still it'll be so much easier for everyone.”

“Excellent experience with the emergency staff at the animal hospital. Our pup presented with stomach issues & based on xrays, the doctor performed emergency surgery. A large plush toy was removed from his stomach. Pleased with the services provided by the front desk staff, vet techs, and veterinarians. So relieved our pup is recovering nicely.”
