“Adorable little shop with home goods and a handful of souvenirs if you were here to look at the Thimble Islands. Today the shop was manned by a couple of sweet young girls. I was thinking about getting a t-shirt and wasn't quite sure if it fit me. No fitting room, but a couple of hours later I tried it on and it didn't quite fit, so they happily took it back and refunded it on my card.”

“This place caught me off guard- in a good way. Strange Ways is tucked in behind the courthouses in New Haven, and I never would’ve expected a store with this much personality to be hiding there. I was drawn in by the bright colors and the wordplay, and once inside it kept getting better.
The whole vibe feels like reconnecting with your childhood self- playful, bold, colorful, and a little weird in a way that works. If you love clever phrases, visual humor, and design that doesn’t take itself too seriously, this store is full of it. It’s also a fantastic spot for gifts, especially for those people who are impossible to shop for because they “already have everything.”
They have a great assortment of patches, pins, stationery, and small gift items, and I appreciated that nothing felt generic or mass-produced. I ended up buying myself a sweater and a beanie (because obviously), and both were great quality. Pricing felt very fair... exactly what you’d expect when supporting a small, local business, without feeling overpriced.
The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which always makes a difference. And surprisingly, parking wasn’t bad at all. I parked right on the street, fed the meter with some quarters, and had no issues.
This is one of those shops that makes you happy you wandered off the main path a bit. I’ll definitely be back.”

“At first i was sad that Joanns closed because I didn’t want to waste my time shopping at Micheals. So I decided to go to hobby libby instead…. This store is insane, awesome prices, HUGE selection of items and crafts. And the staff is lovely and helpful. They have stuff both Joanns and Micheals dont stock and for each hobby there are niche items youve never seen before. Its pretty rad.”

“Lovely staff, very helpful. Went above and beyond in their tracking down an item for me that wasn't out on the sale floor with the other colors of the same item. Store is a bit unorganized seeming, but that's a bit expected for the genre of store it is, haha. Went in not expecting much success in my adventures in trying to furnish a new apartment due to not having much luck in previously visited stores, but very pleasantly surprised as I managed to find and leave with multiple items I've been hoping to find.”
