The Capitol Hotel, part of the Ascend Hotel Collection, is located in Downtown Hartford and offers a mixed experience for guests. Some visitors appreciate the hotel's convenient location and beautiful views of the State Capitol, as well as the helpful and professional staff. Many guests have highlighted the complimentary breakfast and amenities such as fridges and microwaves in the rooms.
However, there are several concerns regarding the quality of the accommodations. Some rooms are described as outdated, with issues such as weak water pressure, uncomfortable mattresses, and cleanliness problems, including dust mites. Guests have reported problems with door locks and drainage, which were not adequately addressed by staff. The parking garage is also noted to be small and challenging to navigate.
While some guests found their stay enjoyable, others experienced significant issues that led them to doubt the hotel's management and maintenance. Overall, The Capitol Hotel offers a range of experiences, with a need for improvements in room quality and service responsiveness.
