Despite their thoroughness and high quality repairs, they charge a lot less than typical dealer shops do.If a design is defective out of the manufacturer (such as a poor muffler clamp) they will do extra welding to reinforce it so it does not break again.My most recent visit was to have a rapidly worsening leak in my Silverado's transmission cooler lines repaired. While they were inspecting the truck, they found a potential safety hazard--the power steering cooler was rotted out and it carries the brake fluid, so a loss of pressure would mean a loss of brakes--not a good thing to happen on a commercial duty truck!I had them repair both, plus they quickly found out the cause of an engine stalling problem--a broken ground strap from the engine block to frame--and fixed it. Initially, the total cost was a little rough to handle, but when I looked over the invoice, I realized that so many things added up and none of them were unreasonably priced.Gil's is a bit of a drive for me, but I don't trust anyone else to work on my vehicles.”

“What a great team! I went in to get an oil change. They ran the series of tests to let me know what I needed. My car has over 318,000 miles so never know what to expect. They noticed the belt was shredded and emphasized the need to get it done as soon as possible. The next day I came in and they were speedy in replacing the belt. Which also led to a new diagnosis of the battery that needed to be replaced. There were several people from the crew including the manager that made sure everything was done correctly. That evening when I came home all of a sudden my running lights wouldn't turn off. They had me come in the next day and fixed it immediately and problem solved what was going on and cleaned the fuses from the corrosion. Angel was nice and very conversational each day and asked how I was. Brandon the assistant manager was thorough and very kind and making sure I understood what was going on. I will go back. Very trustworthy.”

“I had my car towed to them to fix my alternator. My friend couldn't figure out how to do it so decided to use these guys! I had read a few good reviews and they were right down the street from me! Anyway, was thinking over $200 for them to do my alternator! Nope $77 for that and a part for the battery terminal! I was so happy! Joe seems very knowledgeable and very nice and friendly! “My car wouldn't pass inspection since I had an air injection pump replaced by my hometown mechanic and I hadn't driven far enough to reset the computer and monitors. I was planning a road trip to CT. so I decided to stop at the Brewster Service Station and see if my car would pass inspection after more highway driving. They couldn't fit me in that day, but were able to fit me in the next morning (the day I would be returning home from CT.).When I stopped in the next morning, my car was taken right in and checked thoroughly. Everything passed except the rear brakes. I was told I needed new brake pads and rotors. (When the air injection pump was replaced, my hometown mechanic informed me that my rear brakes were getting low. Also, the last time the rear brake pads were replaced was 7 years ago.) The parts were delivered from a local parts store within 5 minutes and the mechanic started working on my car.During the work, it was discovered that the calipers had locked up. Before ordering new calipers, the owner/manager told me he would try heating them and seeing if that would loosen them up. It did! Once the brake work was completed, my car passed inspection. Furthermore, the owner/manager saved me money by reusing the calipers instead of buying new ones.I was very pleased with the way I was treated and with the work done on my car. I felt that I was treated courteously and with respect; I believe that customer service and satisfaction is a priority for this business; I felt valued as a customer. My experience with the Brewster Service Station was a very positive one.”
