18 Main St, TerryvilleAtmosphere: The space is bright, well lit and clean. The cheery yellow furnishings give it a retro soda shop/ counter luncheon vibe. It was really cold inside when I was there on a Saturday afternoon recently. It was less than an hour after opening so maybe the heat wasn't kicking in yet, but we could not take off our coats and hats while we were eating. Food: I ordered the fried chicken entrée, chicken was tasty, crispy, portion size was good. Unfortunately, they did not have any mashed potatoes available. I was bummed. (As it normally comes with mashed potatoes and broccoli). I asked for macaroni and cheese in lieu of the mashed potatoes, but when I received my entrée, it only had the mac & cheese, and not the broccoli either. For an entree I thought it should have had two sides. My husband had the barbecue pick two with two sides. He picked the pulled pork and brisket with french fries and mac & cheese. I did try all of his food in order to give an accurate review, and as someone who is not able to tolerate any type of heat or spice, ( I even tend to think pepper is spicy). I thought the food was on the bland ( no spice) side. With that being said, it may be intentional given the fact that it's a family establishment that has to cater to all ages. I don't think little ones and the elderly in general want spicy food. They do offer multiple options of barbecue sauces in different spice levels so that you can customize the spice level for yourself and that's great for ordering the barbecue. It didn't help with the mac & cheese that I felt was a little lacking in the taste department. My husband gave the BBQ 4 out of 5. The brisket was a little dry in my opinion. *Overall good food, fun atmosphere and would definitely give it another try.
