“"I got a girlfriend that's better than that She has the smoke in her eyes As we get older and stop making sense You won't find her waiting long" (Talking Heads) I've always loved music with quirky lyrics. Steely Dan, The Kinks, and Warren Zevon come to mind immediately. But that short list is incomplete if it doesn't include Talking Heads. For years I've read that their 1984 concert documentary "Stop Making Sense" was fantastic. IMDb says it "is considered by critics as the greatest concert film of all time". So a) when the film was re-released in a restored version to celebrate its 40th anniversary, and b) when I saw Real Art Ways scheduled week long screenings, well, I knew I'd be making my very first visit there. Tickets were ordered through their website, and that went super easy. There were seven showings available, and tickets were priced at $12 for an Adult, and $8 for Seniors and Students. After I ordered, the tickets were promptly e-mailed to me. When we arrived for the 5:15 show, we chatted with the attendant who was pretty friendly and cool. An afternoon showing of a Carlos Santana documentary was finishing up, so that gave us time to wander through RAW's three art galleries to check out the exhibits. We didn't buy anything from the concession stand, but they have quite a few beers and candies for you if you want something. Our theater seats were comfortable and the sound and picture were great for our movie. We were two of only eleven patrons for the 5:15 showing, and that was a shame because the concert film was an exhilarating joy to watch. RAW is quite a place- a nice combination of the arts and cinema, so if that's your thing you'll probably enjoy their monthly cocktail parties.”
“Went to an event for my college class and it exceeded expectations! Fits the vibe for any formal event and can make it fun! Be mindful of parking options as the parking lot is a little small for large events. Would recommend for weddings, formal events, or just big parties!”
“We had so much fun photographing a wedding at Glastonbury Boathouse. The venue was like a blank space, which allowed Lauren and Antonio to easily incorporate important elements of Antonio’s Mexican heritage like hanging Papel picado (Mexican pennant flags) from the beautifully vaulted ceilings. Their ceremony took place overlooking the glistening Connecticut River just before sunset... which meant we got to sneak away for a few minutes during cocktail hour to capture the most amazing sunset photos on the dock. Such a wonderful and fun space!”

My child feels welcomed, safe, and encouraged to enjoy her dance experience and to support and encourage her peers, while learning the skills needed to grow as a dancer. Costumes and music choices are always thoughtful and appropriate which is appreciated. Communication is thorough and the studio is stunning.”
“I don't know why this place is labeled "equipment rental", as I believe it to be a banquet/party/ ceremony of any type facility. As it happens, we were there with family and friends, after a loved one's funeral service. The buffet food, bar and bartender, as well as the waitress and desserts were all outstanding.”
“Friendly staff. We took the self-guided tour (they give you a pamphlet). The exhibit on the Amistad was the best part of the tour. The space is often used for civic engagement activities and when we were there, schoolchildren were putting on a mock trial in the old courtroom. Very good programming and it was cute for us and seemingly interesting and edifying for the kids.”

When we were booking her party, the date that we wanted wasn't available, so we called and they were very accommodating and very nice for booking her party pretty much at the last minute. The planner that we had was very nice as well. Everyone had a great time. Thank you so much!”
“What an absolutely amazing golf course! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The courses was in great shape and the greens were playing very fast. There's a lot of renovation happening on the course (blame Rory) so 2 holes played as temporary par 3's, but even those holes were great. Can't wait to get a chance to play there again!”

“Came here for the flower & garden show & was blown away, it was amazing & i will definitely go again next year. Take spending money, b.c there are lots of vendors selling a lot of unique & amazing finds from food to jewelery to plants & lotions. If you take cash some are willing to give a little xtra wiggle room...lol”
“I recently used this location for what was a reception of my sister and my new in-laws after a beautiful wedding ceremony this decent size location was utilized by my family and friends for just as beautiful celebration the location is conveniently in downtown New Britain Connecticut right off the highway before they're enough away so there's not a lot of traffic. I like that is located near a few restaurants and fast food locations so if you run out of food or someone doesn't like the food being served you can go grab you something else to eat is also quite a few adult beverage stores in the area so people can BYOB! They have a nice size kitchen where we were able to keep the food fresh and hot and also to serve the guests. I had a great time dancing all over the place and had a good amount of space to do so I was very tired for the couple days afterwards. As I was not responsible for the event I do not know the pricing or the quality of the customer service. I just know that the hall was clean and had a lot of space to hold a large crowd of people. I would utilize this space again for future events for sure.”

“Great place for events. Went to a wedding the food was great! The prime rib melted in your mouth. The cocktails were delicious. The staff was more than accomodating! I can't say enough about this venue! How many times have you heard the food was great at a wedding?”
“I love all of the plants I buy from here. The staff is also willing to explain the care and upkeep for each plant they sell. They always have something new or interesting in stock. I would recommend this store to both new and advanced plant enthusiasts.”
“First time went for Easter Brunch 2024. Food very good. Lots of variety. Room could have been decorated with flowers or an ice sculpture just to elevate it a bit. Didn't seem festive. A little stuffy in there too. Husband said mens room bathroom was missing a toilet seat, seriously, that's really ridiculous not to be fixed, especially before a holiday. Might try it again. Maybe.”

“You’re not allowed to take pictures inside the house, but Monet’s haystacks are scattered around outside that you can photograph! The entire place is beautifully landscaped and photo ops abound. But, take a tour to see the spaces Theodate Pope Riddle designed and the collection of impressionist paintings inside.”

“Old building so a bit noisy but the food was worth it. Expected to get a quick burger but the halibut special sounded good so we both ordered that. We have eaten in many fine dining restaurants and the quality of that dish was equal to the best. Nice sized piece of fish cooked with potatoes and a delicious light sauce. Wait staff efficient and friendly. We will be back.”

“Really well appointed suites, convenient location and kind and helpful staff. Large rooms and lots of parking. Adults only in the pool from 9p - 10p which is nice. 24-hour fitness room. I would recommend for sure.”
“Placed an order through doordash and I am super satisfied! Finding food late night past 12:00 is difficult. The food came hot and fresh. Even the side salad had great leafy greens. I ordered the jerk chicken which has a nice smokey grill flavor. I also left a note on DOORDASH to add gravy and this is the first restaurant this whole year that read the special notes section so I give it a 10/10.Your food will come fresh and done correctly, apparently NO MATTER THE TIME! Order from this place if you can’t find fresh food past 12.”

“Our meals were all very good. Our waitress was very friendly and good. It was very crowded and ordering, getting drinks and so on was rather slow but I'm sure it was due to how busy they were. The pop-up dinners they have been offering are an amazing value for delicious food.”
