“Great plane museum, extremely knowledgeable volunteer staff, just their stories about certain aircraft is worth admission price. Place is clean, well organized, offers mezzanine for every staging area, so you can get an amazing 300 degree view from above. Variety of aircraft is astounding, and historical value of such place is immeasurable. Highly recommend, kid friendly, plenty of parking, easy access off main roads.”

“An Unforgettable Experience at The Society Room in West Hartford
I recently had the immense pleasure of attending a corporate outing at The Society Room in West Hartford, Connecticut, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. Having never visited West Hartford before, I wasn’t sure what to expect, especially on a cold and rainy evening. However, from the moment I arrived, I was transported into a world of elegance and grandeur that far exceeded any expectations.
At first glance, the building’s exterior resembles an old brick warehouse, giving little hint of the opulence inside. But as soon as I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by a luxurious red carpet underfoot and warmly welcomed by two attendants offering champagne and water. This immediate touch of sophistication set the tone for the evening. Just a few steps further, I checked in my coat and umbrella and continued along another plush red carpet that led past a gorgeous fireplace adorned with our company’s banner and logo.
The interior is nothing short of breathtaking. A stunning mahogany oak bar greets you as you enter, exuding warmth and class. There’s an additional bar and an open social area surrounding the main event space, perfect for mingling and networking. One of the most captivating features is the old-fashioned bank vault—a nod to the building’s history as a former bank. The walls are adorned with fascinating photographs from the 1800s and 1900s, offering a glimpse into the past and adding a rich historical context to the venue. The bank vault door and room provided an incredible backdrop for photos, which we eagerly shared on social media to capture the unique charm of the place.
After enjoying delectable hors d’oeuvres and expertly crafted drinks, we proceeded into the main Society Room for the highlight of the evening: a fashion show runway event. The setup was impeccable—chairs elegantly lined along the aisle, a grand stage with a DJ, and yet another bar at the front. The room itself is awe-inspiring, boasting towering 30 to 40-foot ceilings adorned with intricate gold leaf decorations on the ceiling and trim. Every detail, from the custom-designed walls to the polished floors, exudes luxury and meticulous attention to detail.
The primary event space is split into two levels. The lower level is ideal for weddings, runway events, or corporate gatherings, while the upstairs features a beautiful staircase leading to additional seating areas complete with tablecloths and exquisite centerpiece settings. The chandeliers suspended from the high ceilings are simply magnificent, casting a warm and inviting glow that enhances the room’s grandeur.
What truly sets The Society Room apart is not just its stunning architecture and decor but the exceptional service. The venue is impeccably maintained, showing no signs of wear or tear. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our experience unforgettable. Their professionalism and servant-heartedness elevated the entire event.
I cannot recommend The Society Room highly enough for any company, corporation, or couple seeking an upscale venue for a special event. Whether it’s a wedding, corporate function, or any grand celebration, this place delivers an unparalleled experience on every front. My time in West Hartford was made truly special thanks to this remarkable venue, and I eagerly look forward to returning in the future.

“Always a good time! The creative cocktail on the 3rd Thursday of each month is a blast.The DJ was great, and we danced all night. The food truck was yummy, and the exhibits were interesting. Great way to start the weekend!”

“My daughter has danced with New Steps for five years and it has been a pleasure. The owner and staff set the tone for a positive, drama-free dance experience. My child feels welcomed, safe, and encouraged to enjoy her dance experience and to support and encourage her peers, while learning the skills needed to grow as a dancer. Costumes and music choices are always thoughtful and appropriate which is appreciated. Communication is thorough and the studio is stunning.”
“My boyfriend and I had the best anniversary weekend at the Charles Cheney Inn! Laura and her husband are incredible hosts. She puts out a breakfast spread every morning, and beyond that, even asked our preferences as to what she would make fresh. We stayed in the blue room and would highly recommend it to others! It is beautifully kept with a super comfortable bed. Bonus: The outside of the mansion is perfect for photos.”

“I don't know why this place is labeled "equipment rental", as I believe it to be a banquet/party/ ceremony of any type facility. As it happens, we were there with family and friends, after a loved one's funeral service. The buffet food, bar and bartender, as well as the waitress and desserts were all outstanding.”
“We play soccer here in winter. Decent size turf for 7 a side game. The rubber millets under the turf (don’t know what is that called) seems to be worn out , so the floor became hard. Apart from that issue everything else is good”

“Arrived to hotel late after 1am Aaleysha greeted me got me into room very fast it was so comfortable. They also have free guest laundry , and amenities upon arrival if you are a member I wasn’t but she had signed me up as well so I received one and also points for my stay. Thanks highly recommended”
