I reserved a truck A week before I was to pick it up and these people had the nerve to text me half an hour before pick up to tell me it wasn’t available . Then when I tried to call to see what was up, no one would answer the phone. Worthless company. Pay a little more and use U-Haul – at least they are always available to deal with customer concerns. Would give them zero stars if it was possible.

Would give 0 stars if possible. PReserved a truck earlier in the week. Get 5 minutes from the address listed and I got a text saying they wouldn't have a truck available and to call budget customer service. I decided to drive to the location to see if they had a bigger truck, because I literally had to move in a few hours. I get to Reed street and all there is at the address is a crater with construction. Nobody else had a truck available obviously, so canceled and went and got a penske truck who had way better service and gave us a discount for our horror story with budget.

They don't fulfill reservations that were made over a month in advance. If you have a deadline for your move or expect even a baseline of customer service then you are better off literally anywhere else.

DO NOT USE THIS TRUCK RENTAL COMPANY. I had a pick up scheduled for 12:00pm today. I am moving out of my apartment. at 11:51am I get a text saying "The Budget Truck on Reed St NE DC will not have a truck available. Please call customer svc 866-756-5750 for your new pickup location. A text 9 minutes before my pick up??? Really??? Okay. So I call customer service asking for my new pick up location. The lady tells me they are completely booked and there are no more trucks at that location. EVEN THOUGH I MADE THIS RESERVATION A WEEK AGO AND PUT MY CARD DOWN. I asked her for the new location. She said someone with the location department (something like that) would give me a call in TWO HOURS seeing if there was a truck available in DC. TWO HOURS? My pick up was supposed to be in 9 minutes. I asked if they have any larger trucks available. She said there was a 16 foot truck, but she wouldn't be able to have someone call me to rent it for TWO HOURS. I couldn't wait two hours, I had to be moved out at 12pm. I ended up having to call a ton of different truck companies. Not to mention, I hired movers for 12pm so I was paying them to stand around while I had to drive out to Maryland to get another truck renter (which was so much more expensive). I will be calling Budget sometime next week to speak with someone high up. They owe me the difference I paid for for the new truck, and for the movers I had to hire that had to stand around while I paid them. Overall, BUDGET TRUCK RENTAL COMPLETELY RUINED MY MOVE OUT PLANS AND SCREWED UP MY DAY. What kind of company TEXTS someone 9 MINUTES BEFORE?

We reserved a truck online only to arrive to find out there wasn't a truck available. Apparently Budget don't want to ever say no to a customer so allow you to book one even if not available. So instead annoying there customers more! If not available someone from the office should call you to say there isn't one free instead of wasting your time turning up and trying to have to find another truck. Would not use budget again.

The location was off of the beaten path (random alley/street). No one was there when we arrived to drop off the truck. As we were leaving an associate showed up and barely acknowledged us. The truck was very old with manual windows and over 90,000 miles, but it held up.

Not the fanciest location from which Ive rented a vehicle, but ABSOLUTELY THE BEST SERVICE I have ever experienced BY FAR... And I have probably rented from BUDGET, UHAUL et al over 25 times in my life.

Reserved a 26' truck more than a week in advance. Got a text 30 minutes before scheduled pick up to let me know they didn't have it and I should call a number. Called the number - said someone would call me back in 15-20 minutes or 2 hours. They called me back 1.5 hours later after I had already ridden my bike 5 miles to go pick up another truck. Insanely bad customer service. Use the Penske service at Home Depot nearby. Much easier.

We arranged to rent a truck for 10 a.m. on Saturday. It was confirmed by email Thursday evening. On Saturday morning at 9:30 I got a text message saying they had no truck for us. They were then unable to find a comparable truck for us at any DC or nearby location. This is outrageous and in line with other reviewers' experience. I'll never use them in the future.

I mean ...it's a truck yard... What do you actually expect. It's definitely not the Ritz... it is somewhere between a crack den and a dumpyard. Long story short it's a truck yard and you can get your truck here and the people are nice.

I reserved a truck online and the site said that I had a truck reserved. When I arrived, the guy told me that they didn't have a truck for me. They charged me $50 for a no-show fee and are going to take 7 business days to return the money they never should have charged me. Will not be coming back.

Rented a moving truck from this location and it nearly ruined my entire move. The truck was delivered to me with the check engine light and tire pressure light on and no one at the location seemed to care that the truck was clearly out of maintenance. On my way out of town I stopped to put air in the tire. By the time I got to Baltimore I had a flat and had to wait 3 hours for someone to come fix it. I was stranded in downtown Baltimore in rush hour traffic. Then the return location tried to scam me and put extra charges on my card for not refueling when I filled the tank over what was required. My whole experience with this company was horrible and will never rent from budget again.

Budget is a pretty awful company - pay the extra $75 for U-Haul. Budget will try to scam you to pay more at every turn and will have 0 care about customer service. One of the worst customer experiences of my life.
