“I had such a wonderful time at the trapeze class. The class was a mix of all levels and it was awesome to see what you could work towards. People of all ages showed up and everyone had a wonderful time together and were so encouraging. I will definitely be back with my kids and to bring friends. This is an amazing experience and the staff make you feel at home.”

“I highly recommend Brightstart to any parent looking at daycare options in the Petworth/Brightwood Park area. Outside of its incredible staff and facility, the fact that families don't need to provide daily/weekly items such as milk, sheets, diapers, and food, etc. really set Brightstart apart for us. We had daily interactions with our daughter's teachers, who helped coach our daughter (and us) through so many transitions. The teachers were also great at posting daily pictures and coming up with creative activities to make each day a little different, but still adhering to a routine (e.g. learning to play soccer, group music classes). We also loved the amount of time that our daughter spent outside in their covered and fenced playground.”

“Our daughter recently started at Vinci and so far we could not be happier! The curriculum is great, and the care the teachers show for the children is evident -- our daughter is always excited to go to class each day. Special shoutout to Ms. Athena and Ms. Janeth, who both take great care of our daughter and who our daughter talks about constantly. I definitely feel peace of mind knowing she is with wonderful teachers who are looking out for her and helping her grow each day!”

“One thing I truly love about The Goddard School is how safe, loving, and welcoming they are. My daughter lights up and smiles every time she sees her teacher, and I appreciate that the other teachers also know and acknowledge her. It makes me feel like she is genuinely cared for and not just another child in the classroom.

The school is always very clean and sanitary, which gives me peace of mind as a parent because tiny humans somehow attract germs like they’re running a scientific experiment sponsored by applesauce and coughs. I also really appreciate how hands-on the directors are. They are always willing to step in and help whenever needed, and you can tell they truly care about the children and the environment they create.

I also love the learning curriculum they provide. I can see how much my daughter is learning and growing every day through hands-on activities, social interaction, and structured lessons that are still fun and engaging for the children. It gives me comfort knowing she is not only being cared for but is also developing important skills and building a strong educational foundation at such a young age.

Another thing I appreciate is the sign-in and sign-out process because it adds an extra layer of security and organization. Communication is also excellent. The app they use keeps parents updated throughout the day, which helps me feel connected and reassured while my daughter is there. Overall, my experience has been amazing, and I’m grateful my daughter is in such a caring environment.”

The centre has a nurturing and homely feel that makes it stand out from other bigger, corporate-like institutions. “We had our son in pre-K here during the pandemic, and our daughter in the program Estrellitas started to enable kids to do remote learning with supervision. Our kids learned a ton of Spanish, and did art, games, walks in the woods, field trips, and playgrounds throughout the pandemic. Their staff is incredibly committed and hard-working, and showed up to help our kids throughout the pandemic when other people did not. I would recommend the program to anyone, and will definitely have my kids back for their summer program and school breaks.”

“Like every other parent, we were racked with worry about where to send our kids. Where would they not just be well cared for, but flourish? Once we found the EDCJCC Preschool that worry vanished. Our child has benefited from teachers who are caring and creative, experts in their field. The curriculum is ever changing, reflective of the interests of the kids in each classroom assuring that they are learning while having fun. The EDCJCC Preschools is also incredibly well run from an administrative perspective. The EDCJCC Preschool has been such an amazing fit for our family.”

“Our daughter had a wonderful two years at Mi Palacio. The teachers are all warm and caring, and we felt comfortable daily knowing that our child is in good loving hands. The kids are exposed to plenty of activities throughout the day, playing at the park, visiting the local library, crafts, music, dancing, water time (in the summer). Lunch provided was a big bonus for us, and of course the Spanish exposure. We'd recommend Mi Palacio wholeheartedly!”

“Northeast Stars is wonderful. We had some issues with a previous daycare and decided to switch and we immediately saw improvement in our little man. He had been on the verge of talking for a couple months and within a month of NE Stars his talking greatly improved. He has become so self sufficient and I contribute that to NE Stars. He is excited to go to “school” every day and it is comforting to know he is somewhere safe where he can grow and build relationships with his friends. The staff are extremely flexible and communicate everything efficiently - you never feel out of the loop. We are honestly sad to be leaving for Pre-K 3. If you are looking for a daycare with a safe, structured environment this is the place for you and your little one.”

“Educare is a magical and wonderful place! The staff and teachers are amazing. Our 2 children attend and we adore it.TEACHERS: are amazing! Everyone is so friendly, professional and helpful. Most of the teachers know our kids by name even if they are not in their class.FACILITIES: The facilities are beautiful with friendly inviting furniture and toys. The playgrounds and grounds are top notch.CLASSES: Our 2 year old and 4 year old adore their friends and teachers. In our 2 year old class they send detailed logs of eating, diapers and sleep. They check in every day to see our our daughter did overnight and they let us know if anything is ever off. They only allow family’s on campus.PROGRAMS: they have monthly virtual wellness and support groups. Each family has a Family Engagement Specialist who checks in frequently to make sure you have everything you need. Ours Ms. Black is outstanding!INCLUSION: they are committed to inclusion and our childrens special needs are respected and uplifted. They have all Early Intervention services right on campus and Ms. Nora is great at communicating.We highly recommend Educare for all DC residents. As a Head Start site, all DC residents are eligible and they hold most spots for folks based on income. So even if you don’t think you’ll get a spot, just apply! We are so glad that we did!!!”

The school really emphasizes and focuses on each child and their independence. The staff and management team are extremely professional, excellent communicators and incredibly welcoming.
