“I recently started my own business in June of 23. I had always heard that DFCU was friendly toward local and small business so I chose them to open my business bank account. From the beginning there have been hiccups. When I deposit checks into my account they are held for long periods before clearing. I have been told that this is due to my account being less than 6 months old so my deposited checks are flagged by fraud. So to be clear, my deposits have been held for 12 days at a time. You can imagine how frustrating it is to have to wait 3 weeks for a contractor to pay me then be told my bank is holding my payment an additional 2 weeks. As a small business I can’t keep all my money in the bank, usually as soon as it clears I have to pay bills and that can bring the balance pretty low. So for a bank to say they are good for small business then say that for the first 6 months you have to either wait way longer than usual for your checks to clear or leave all your money in the account so the checks can clear faster is absurd. Then this morning I checked my balance, a check had cleared and was available in my account. I repeat it was AVAILABLE! I deposited.a small check and a large one from recent payments to my business. These checks are not clearing for 12 days. When I checked my balance later that afternoon I was shocked to see the balance was much lower than it should have been. The check that was ALREADY cleared is now clearing in 9 days. The small check was deposited immediately. So they took the check BACK after I already waited 12 days for it to clear and added 9 days. Not sure how that’s legal. In summary, if you are a business interested in a good bank to use, keep looking. DFCU are crooks at best.Note - the branch employees have always been polite and professional, this review reflects on DFCU as a wholeEdit - received a call from DFCU customer service (shout out to Chantel, pardon if I misspelled your name), they were able to resolve my issue and honestly might have saved my holiday. I changed my review from 1 star to 4 because they bothered to reach out to me.”

“Never had an issue with this bank. Best bank hands down. I dare not go to another bank that charges you fees to hold my money. Great customer service. Anyone who has anything to say about this bank obviously had one bad experience and decided to comment. Credit Unions are better than any of those big banks. There are folks in the comments talking about long wait times, access to information, and etc like these big corp banks like TD BANK and PNC to name a few don’t have these same problems. U have one issue that doesn’t work with you and you complain a bad review. Maybe there’s a reason that happened to you. Your energy is already wrong when u approach the problem. It’s only going to get worse.”
“I had the opportunity to visit Middletown location now this is what you call Customer Service I don’t remember the young lady name she had (blond braids) her and another young lady I’m assuming the branch manager because she was in a actual office. Snacks,Water, Pens love it!!! This site and Main St Newark I say GOOD JOB visits like this makes me proud to be a member. Newcastle tellers Mean,Wilmington (No parking/safety for elderly members who has to walk far to get the the atm/branch) branches as well as the reps who answer from Dover needs work....the chewing over the phone, the inaccurate information to get a customer off the phone it’s frustrating .... Ladies at Middletown & Main St Again thanks for all you do!!”

I highly recommend this location for both personal and business accounts. Apart from them being a Credit Union they are a very active local bank in the community which is what you look for in a bank.”
“Wonderful had a 1:30 appointment went right back the lady was amazing her name was heaven I believe was in and out in about a hour for setting up a new account and a CD when leaving they gave me my information and stuff and also gave a goodie bag would definitely recommend!!!”
