He has cared for both Hana and Onyx, and what truly sets him apart is not only his knowledge and experience, but the way he understands how deeply we love our dogs. He treats them with genuine care and compassion, while also treating you as a person not simply as another client or business transaction.
Finding a veterinarian you completely trust with animals that are part of your family is incredibly important, and Dr. Lera has earned that trust from us.

“I have been taking my dog, Bailey, to Dr. Martinez for six years and she has always taken excellent care of him and is very thorough and informative regarding his health. She never rushes you and takes the time to discuss any concerns or questions that I have. Most of all, Bailey really likes her. Also, the staff at Brookside is always very nice, helpful, and professional. I think their pricing is fair and reasonable for the services provided. I would recommend Brookside/Dr. Martinez to anyone who is looking for a good vet/facility.”

A little disorganized.
Different doctors different care! But over all I love my girls vet, Dr. Friedbauer and her assistant. She is such an amazing Doctor.
And the prior Doctor, that saw my baby and gave her the best medicine for her problem!”

“I liked it. The day I came was beautiful, about 65 degrees and sunny, mid January - a staff member told me many of the animals were moved inside bc of the cold front the night before -- she offered to give me back the $5 you place into a box when arriving (based on honor system).
I was cool and walked around and enjoyed the peaceful meditative vibe.
Just sat on a bench and relaxed. There are some really cool owls and hawks here. The signage is weather worn but it is rustic and weathered, like most of the handicapped animals they keep here.

“My 16 y old fur baby Bear was really sick and I was so sad knowing that his days are numbers now. We meet Dr Charlotte Gillis and her assistant that made us feel so welcoming and showed me so much care towards me and my baby, so much knowledge explaining everything with patience and care. 2 days later Bear is doing better and my heart is full of gratitude towards these 2 human beings that treated us exactly the way we needed. “The staff, technicians, and doctors are all wonderful. But I want to specifically recognize Dr. Paula Engle. She is outstanding! Over the last 9 new years, she saw my dog, Oliver, several times. She was always friendly, engaging, and attentive. We never felt rushed. She really took the time to listen and offer helpful recommendations. We never felt like she would add unnecessary tests in order to make more money. After our dog passed away, she mailed us a beautiful handwritten card. Her kindness during a very difficult time demonstrates her compassion and devotion to her patients and their families.”
