Not only is it beachside, but the staff make you feel so welcomed. Rachel and Frankie were so friendly and clearly love animals, as they were both giving my pup so much love and attention (even though he can be a little rascal sometimes!) I appreciated their attention to customer questions and upkeep of the animals in the store.

That is one thing I was concerned about because I did not want Angel to have a traumatic experience. They do walk-ins for nails trims so that's convenient. I would recommend them to my friends.

Dr. Rachel Cunningham was incredibly detailed and thorough while providing a second opinion regarding our dog’s testing for kidney disease. She clearly explained the test results, what they indicated, and the options available to us.
When the retesting came back normal, she also took the time to address another symptom we had mentioned, which ultimately proved to be a separate issue. We truly appreciated her thoroughness and willingness to look beyond the original concern.
We are very grateful for the exceptional care we received and will be making Paradise Animal Clinic our new primary veterinary clinic. The entire staff was also incredibly friendly and welcoming!

932 Mason Avenue, Daytona BeachDue to COVID you have to wait in your vehicle while staff takes your pet inside but I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I had just adopted a kitten from the Halifax Human Society (buyer beware) and a few days later this poor kitten was sneezing about 15 times in a row and I know that they need their sleep at this age but he was so sick that he was super lethargic and slept all day and night. I took him to Driftwood Animal Hospital mainly because of the location to my home and they had a same day appointment available. My new pet was extremely sick with a severe upper respiratory infection and an ear infection. The staff told me over the phone that they had been seeing a lot of sick animals from the Halifax Humane Society. The staff was very friendly and professional and the vet prescribed him an antibiotic, ear drops and something to help with his immune system. I’m going to be taking him there from now on and I didn’t have to pay an arm and a leg either. The wait wasn’t very long and there was about five other cars with their pets. Everything was explained thoroughly to me about how to give the medicine and after only two days he was playing and getting into everything like a normal kitten. Thank you so much for everything!

I missed my BabyGirl, but wanted her to have a great life ahead of her and it started with the correct training. Mr Russell achieved everything and more that he promised. Off leash training, behavior, obedience and a strong love of direction to please her Hooomans. Had to get over the E Collar stigma, but so glad I did. She loves her collar go figure.We had to be trained just like Freda lol. Her training is not over, but with a foundation such as she received from Mr Russell anything can be achieved. Ty Albert from the bottom of our hearts.

Halifax Humane Society
2364 LPGA Boulevard, Daytona BeachThe Humane Society is an amazing nonprofit organization that truly helps animals in need. I adopted my lovely cat from here, and the entire adoption process was easy and positive. I’ve also brought in two sweet abandoned dogs that I found so they could be safely cared for. The staff members I’ve interacted with have been wonderful, and the dog park itself is amazing as well.
Overall, I would give the Humane Society 4.5 out of 5 stars. The only reason I’m taking off half a star is because of my experiences with some of the volunteers—not the staff.
Unfortunately, almost every time I’ve had a negative interaction here, it has involved a volunteer. I’ve encountered volunteers of different ages who have come across as unnecessarily rude or disrespectful. I’ve also spoken with other people at dog parks who have mentioned having similar experiences.
One experience in particular really bothered me. A volunteer yelled at me very harshly and loudly at the dog park because my dog was off-leash for a couple of seconds, which was embarrassing and could have been handled much more respectfully. My dog is a trained service dog, and controlled off-leash work is part of his training. He knows not to run up to other dogs, and once we are safely inside the large-dog park, I give him his release command to let him know he can simply “be a dog.”
I completely understand that rules exist for safety and that volunteers may need to remind visitors of them. My issue was not being corrected—it was the unnecessarily harsh and disrespectful way the situation was handled.
The Humane Society itself does incredible work, and I have had positive experiences with the organization, its staff, the adoption process, and the park. I just wish some of the volunteer interactions reflected the same level of professionalism and kindness. Unfortunately, those experiences have made me hesitant to return despite otherwise really enjoying this organization and everything it does for animals.
