“So, I bought my son a 2016 Focus for his first car. If you're not aware, these have notoriously difficult automatic transmissions, called the DSP6 PowerShift transmission. We found a leak, and had problematic shifting and the dreaded overheat warning, so I called around to find a place that will work on the DSP6 and not many shops will! Fortunately, Deland Transmissions does, and they found that the seal between the TCM and the transmission body was the leak point, and the TCM was our problem with shifting. They replaced the TCM and seal, updated all software to the latest approved version from Ford, and I could not be happier. I put about 120 miles on the transmission almost immediately after picking it up, highway and to the airport. No overheating, super smooth shifting, and after I got back home and pulled out the ramps, no leaking from the transmission. I will definitely be returning to them for all transmission work in the future, and my Expedition is about to need some work.”
