“Walking into Rattan Wicker & Cane in Venice, Florida feels less like entering a retail store and more like stepping into a beautifully curated sanctuary. The showroom achieves a rare, poetic balance. It seamlessly merges a nostalgic, vintage Florida soul with a sharp, modern sensibility. The organic textures of intricately woven bamboo, seagrass, and classic cane echo the timelessness of coastal living. Yet, the sleek silhouettes and contemporary layout prove that these natural materials belong firmly in the modern home. It is a poignant reminder that true style doesn't chase trends—it endures. What truly elevates this long-standing local staple beyond its beautiful furniture is the deep sense of human connection provided by the staff Kathy and Diane greet you with a genuine warmth that immediately makes you feel at home, intuitively sensing whether you need space to browse or a guided hand. These fine ladies possess a brilliant eye for design, taking the time to listen to your vision and offering thoughtful, attentive advice without a shred of sales pressure. Woody anchors the experience with his incredible knowledge and dedication, ensuring that every practical detail is handled with absolute care in procuring new inventory to unleash onto your senses. In an era dominated by cold, mass-produced online shopping, this local showroom stands as a testament to the beauty of tactile craft and genuine hospitality. You do not just leave with furniture; you leave with a piece of the warm, sun-drenched Venice spirit.”
“The team at Venice Living are knowledgeable and delightful - and VERY flexible with postponing our furniture delivery due to hurricane damage to our home. We greatly appreciate the patience and grace you have extended. We can't wait to enjoy our new sofa, chair and refeshed look!”
“We ordered a new grill from Indigo. Separately, we ordered a grill cart from another company. Indigo's installation manager did the install without hesitation. Despite having no knowledge of our new cart, we were up and running in less than hour. Very friendly. Very professional. Service above and beyond what anyone might ordinarily expect. Thank you Indigo.”
“When I first walked into the Rustic Rooster I was greeted with a warm welcome. ALWAYS a good start for me since I have been in customer service for over 35 years and feel like it is no longer the most important piece for most businesses anymore. I am someone who is going to get into restoring and painting old furniture and had questions regarding paints, techniques, and general questions after watching hours and hours of Youtube. Rose was so kind in answering all of my questions and suggested a paint class she was putting on that weekend so I could learn even more about why she uses Annie Sloan paint and how it can be used with the right techniques. Annie Sloan paint was the one I was leaning toward after my own research so I signed my husband and I up for the class. If you are looking for a fun, interactive, learning experience with your partner this is a great class to take. Rose is very knowledgeable and most of all, she is KIND. She has been in the business for many years and she wants all of the artists that walk through her door (and more) to succeed in whatever project they are working on. From beginner to experienced you will find what you are looking for at the Rustic Rooster. ~Terri”

They will work with you to refinish or update the pieces with paint and embellishments of your choice. If you aren’t able to visit them, consider ordering online. They ship fast and their customer service is the best. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.”

“What a wonderful store, and amazing customer service experience. Truly, I can’t remember the last time I was treated so well, and had so much fun shopping! The owners are so kind. The woman who owns this lovely shop; went out of her way to look at photos of my home, and help me select items that would work for specific spaces that I needed help styling. When I went home it all fit perfectly, her eye for my aesthetic was so on point. Can’t wait to go back!!! Thank you!!”
“Wonderful business! Called to check availability & set up a Monday drop off. My boat wasn't ready from the mechanic, called to let them know, no problem. Came in on Wednesday to let them know I'd be in the next day with the boat. They knew me by name & were expecting me, had a nice chat and they gave me some recommendations for local businesses. Came in today to drop off the boat and they were so kind and helpful! I was there alone and had a bad experience at another business earlier in the day, they turned it all around! A very nice contractor was there and backed my boat in for me while we chatted some more and got more recommendations! They are so amazing to work with and I'm glad I called them for storage! Thank you so much!!”

“This place is a gem in Venice, Florida. It has a large selection of indoor and outdoor furniture and is an authorized retailer of Polywood outdoor furniture. I came here to finalize my choice by seeing the products, and I was impressed by the selection and the knowledge of the staff here. I also was shopping for coastal bedroom furniture and was happy to find exactly what I was looking for here! They have been extremely helpful by giving me the dimensions of the furniture, so I can be sure it will fit in the room, and look beautiful!! My furniture was delivered and looks exactly how I hoped it would!”

Bob's Discount Furniture is growing while its competitors shrink. The Manchester, Connecticut-based retailer reported strong fourth-quarter results in its first earnings call since going public in February, with revenue climbing 8.2% to $648.8 million. Full-year net revenue jumped 16.8% to $2.4 billion, and net income rose to $121.7 million from $87.9 million the prior year. CEO Bill Barton told analysts the company plans to open about 20 new stores in 2026 and sees a path to more than 500 locations by 2035, roughly two and a half times its current 209-store footprint across 26 states.
Wayfair is testing a new, smaller store design. The online home furnishings giant, famous for its endless digital catalog, is trying a different strategy for its physical locations. The company announced plans to open a smaller prototype store in Columbus, Ohio, scheduled for late 2026. Located next to the Polaris Fashion Mall, the new space will span approximately 70,000 square feet.
Online furniture giant Wayfair is setting up shop in Atlanta with plans for a huge 150,000-square-foot store opening in 2026. The new location will take over the former Walmart space at The District at Howell Mill shopping center. This marks Wayfair's second big store, following its first location that opened in Wilmette, Illinois, in May 2024.
