This charming boutique has an incredible selection of unique and high-quality items, making it the perfect spot for finding thoughtful gifts or treating yourself. They offer everything from children’s books and wooden toys to weighted, scented stuffed animals, adorable clothing for birthdays or everyday wear, jewelry, Piggy Paint nail polish, luxurious bath products, and even stylish women’s clothing.

We snagged a scented stuffed animal—a dog that my daughter now calls Wolfie—which smells like lavender, and she’s absolutely obsessed with it! One standout feature of the shop was the activity table with puzzles and books to keep little ones entertained while you browse—such a thoughtful touch. While the prices are on the higher side, it’s exactly what you’d expect from a boutique offering carefully curated, one-of-a-kind items. I’ll definitely be back for more!”

“Jerico was extremely helpful when we were looking at purchasing a double stroller for our family. He happily answered any/all questions and demonstrated how the stroller worked. The store was clean, organized and they offered a wide variety of clothing/toys that was reasonably priced and in great condition. Would highly recommend to anyone starting/growing their family or anyone who knows someone else that has littles! We are thoroughly enjoying our new stroller and definitely will be back to visit again soon!”

“My first time in this store was recent and delightful. The store itself was fairly clean, the shelves and stands were aesthetically organized by show/movie/theme. The set up alone tells a few stories and will have you exploring for at least 10 solid minutes before you begin your shopping process ? which is beautiful! I lingered in the clearance aisle (which is where things were more reasonably priced) and found some niche and chic clothing.
Go visit! Even for just the experience, patronize this place!”

“I have to say this is by FAR the best experience I’ve had. My sister and I recently came in here about a week ago, I’ve had some weight loss and was feeling pretty discouraged, I couldn’t find the shorts, or anything “younger styled” and a blonde women with blue eyes I think her name was Ravyne? I could be spelling it wrong… she turned my whole day around! I guess we looked lost and she had asked if they’re was anything she could do to help and I had explained to her what exactly I was looking for ( a New York trip outfits) and she literally went out of her way to help me find the perfect outfits!! She was very professional, and uplifting even helped me stopped crying from being so overwhelmed ( I couldn’t find anything at first) I WILL be going back to this location every time and I pray she’ll be there!”

“Such a great selection of stuff. I scored great deals on the clearance section to stock up for months out. The additional 30% off was nice. Friendly associates. Clean store. The only thing that bugged me was one of the associates kept asking if I wanted their store card after I declined several times. It came across rather pushy, in my opinion.”

“When I tell you I went to the cosmetic department to get some perfume for my friend and myself. The Manager was so helpful. She took her time with me and explained the different scents and her opinions. The first day I didn’t buy anything but when I came back 2 days later I purchased 3 things and told my friends to come there. I will be back and thank you for making my shopping experience amazing.”

“I’ve been shopping at Once Upon a Child stores since before 2014 and started visiting the four Jacksonville locations regularly around 2016. Out of them all, this Mandarin location is the one I visit most often when I make the trek from Nocatee to hit Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. I remember when this store was originally near Trader Joe’s — the new location is a bit farther, but that’s perfectly fine.

Over the years, I believe this location has changed ownership a few times, but it has consistently remained one of my favorites. The prices here are very reasonable, especially on brands like bamboo and Lilly Pulitzer — often much lower than the airport or Orange Park locations, and definitely better than the Kid to Kid store just around the corner.

While I usually sell my higher-end items online, I bring my everyday brands and toys here because the process is easy and fair — and I don’t have to meet strangers in parking lots just to make a few extra dollars. I always make sure my items are freshly laundered, neatly organized in a container (not trash bags), and complete with all parts. I truly believe that kind of presentation makes a difference. If more sellers took a little extra time to prepare their items this way, they might have better experiences and offers too.

I also want to give a special mention to the gentleman who runs the store — he’s incredibly kind and helpful, and has even carried large items to my SUV more than once. It’s that kind of personal touch that keeps me coming back. I try to stop in about once a week when I’m in the area.

My only suggestion for improvement — and this goes for most resale stores, including Kid to Kid — would be to tone down the air fresheners. Strong scents can be overwhelming for those of us who are sensitive to them.

Overall, this location continues to be one of my favorites for both buying and selling children’s items. Always a great experience!”
