Winston was very helpful at the Gainesville terminal. My husband ordered the vehicle, but I changed my mind and asked for a bigger vehicle to fit our needs. He went out of his way to meet my request, and all with a smile!

30 days into my 90 day rental, the vehicle wouldn't start. National sent a tow truck then ordered an uber to take me to the nearest branch location, which was non-existent, forcing me to get a ride to the airport.The agent at the desk was not at all empathetic and told me I would have to wait several hours for a new vehicle since the ones in the lot were going to people about to land in Gainesville. So basically, they're important, I am not. Someone returned a vehicle, making me only wait an hour while they cleaned it.This is when they charged me a $250 drop fee for returning the car to a different location, when the vehicle was towed, not returned. They charged me an extra mileage fee and a late return fee on a reoccurring rental, without knowing the mileage, a grand total of $551 extra, for a vehicle that was faulty and no longer in running condition. They treated me as if I was an inconvenience. I now have my companies travel service contacting Nationals corporate office.They care about money... and that's it! No compassion, no apologies, no empathy. The manger could use a class in customer service.Don't rent from here, they could care less about you and if your car breaks down, the extra charges will be on you.I would give A half star if it was possible.

I just had the worst experience of my life at this National Car Rental airport. I flew in to the Gainesville airport this morning at 9:30am and I have a return flight back out on Thursday. When I attempted to pick up my car with a proper reservation, they said I had to reserve a $400 security deposit on my credit card along with my $230 car rental fee. I've always rented cars from this airport and other National Car Rental airports. With a return flight, National Car Rentals policy is you only pay for your car rental fee as long as you can show a return flight. They did not allow me to rent the car, because I refused to pay a $400 deposit. I filed a formal complaint! I love National Car Rental, but this was the worst experience of my life today with them.

I’ve rented twice from this location and there always seems to be an issue getting the proper vehicles you reserved. Customer service seems fine giving you whatever they have instead of accomadating their customers. Don’t be surprised if you don’t get the vehicle class you reserved here.

Flight coming in from Atlanta was delayed 90 minutes and didn't land till 1:30 AM. Contacted Hugh why sitting in Atlanta and he waited for me so I wasn't stuck at the airport. Thanks Hugh!!!

I talked to Hugh at national and I have a confirmed reservation and when I arrived to the counter, he says that all the cars are already assigned to other customers arriving on later flights. This doesn’t make any sense since I have a confirmed reservation. I called national customer service and they said there is nothing they can do. Please do not rent from this location. Avis or hertz would be a much better option.

I love renting with National, but honestly my experience with the Gainesville airport team has been the worst. When I got off my flight they was not even present. Coming in the next morning to find out they gave away my reservation since I was not present. Also has issue with getting my car that Trey nor the staff was helpful with. Thanks to the lady at Hertz who came to save the day. If you are at Gainesville airport rent with Hertz!

For your sanity, do not rent a car with national, enterprise or alamo. National, enterprise and alamo, Please pay your staff well because they are the RUDEST set of people i have ever had the displeasure of meeting. They tell you that no cars are available with such a condescending and haughty tone. For goodness sake, why are you in the service business if you treat people like they're nothing? I would beg any intending customer to AVOID this place because they don't display any element of humanity. They don't care for you. So save yourself the headache.

I experienced discrimination while traveling for work on 11/15/2021. I am a health care professional working on the frontlines to ensure viable medications are approved. I am an Emerald member. My Emerald membership was not honored in spite of there being several Emerald designated vehicles on the car lot. Don't book with National. Either the app or by phone. They don't care if cars are available or not. No respect for customers. My car broke down and I booked the reservation. Once I arrive they tell me there are no cars available. You can customer service and they hang up on you. Local National won't even pick up the phone. Very unprofessional !

Emerald Executive, I now think this could be a bad thing. I have been with National, Enterprise for 14 years, till this day I would never consider a move. This location at GNV, most definitely the worse case of disrespect I have ever come across by a manager, literally told me they didn't have my full size SUV that I have always requested ( 6ft4...286lbs ) for my size, was told they somehow let it go out 2 hours prior to my time frame. In her own words, you can go down to another counter if I didn't like it. I have heard since the covid they have been losing big and small corporate accounts do to not showing how to treat people in the way the TAYLOR family started this business. I have business with UF once a month, just found out UF went with another company, if it was a pricing reason I could see it, but with this location and how the manager treats people, I would think it come's into play.
