“WOW! What an amazing store for the community of mothers and families in the WIC program. I’ve been in Davenport/Haines city for a little over 7 years and only recently becoming a mother I’ve seen Mom and Me in passing but I thought they closed down until I realized they just switched locations.Heads up for first timers like myself today, it is not a traditional set up where you can leisurely shop. They have all WIC items, produce both chilled and frozen available in store and I assume more in the back as the lady grabbed oatmeal from the back, so while the set up seems like a small selection I think they only have so much on display at once but fear not any items you don’t see they likely have.For frequent Publix shoppers like myself.. I will say you won’t see a lot of the WIC brands that are available in their stores here (you may find a few) but there is no pressure to buy all your WIC items here, they basically go down the list, you tell them what you need and they grab it and pack it all for you! With my photos for reference all the produce I bought today was a total of $21. I would say their produce prices seems to not be much of a difference to Publix I would say the apples and oranges were reasonably priced. The Oranges along the onions were a little blemished but I will see how they hold up.I was very happy to have the option of sliced cheese as I usually can only get the blocked cheese at Publix which I was never a fan of. Having sliced cheese will be easier for me to prep things like grilled cheeses for my little one! I got 2 packs that equal to the quantity of cheese I’m eligible for so I found this to be worth it and I will certainly come back for that!All in all a great store! I am unsure if there are more like this but I think there should be as it’s wonderful for the community and it helps us busy moms be quick with our grocery trips! There’s less embarrassment or mishaps with major grocery stores especially when stores are constantly changing eligible items but say “WIC doesn’t approve it”. So if you want a stress free shopping experience I’d highly recommend paying a visit. Also huge bonus they helped me take my groceries to my car!! That was such a huge help, so thank you very much. I look forward to visiting again soon :)”

“I’m hoping this review gets to corporate. I went to the deli today to have a PubSub made and Mrs. Tarren was wonderful from start to finish. She dropped was she was doing to attend me. The counter and all the meats and veggies were fully stocked. She prepared my Sub with a wonderful attitude. And even asked to make sure I had everything I needed. I also walked the store to find the manager to make sure he knows that although I previously had bad experiences that I also will acknowledge the good. And Joey was thankful for the feedback. And I’m saying this because prior to this. Everyone I would encounter had bad attitudes. Would ignore me and continue on with their duties. (I know Publix has a high standard attending customers) and I was very disappointed. Mind you I’m a local customer so I have to visit this location quite often. Tarren deserves praise!!! She redeemed my previous experiences.”
“Love shopping at La Placita Mexico Supermarket. They have a huge selection of Caribbean foods, meats, vegetables, and fruits to choose from. They also have a full meat and seafood section with butchers on site. The many times I have visited, the store has always been well stocked, and the prices are more competitive than other local supermarkets. My only concern is that the aisles are very narrow and tight, which can cause delays getting through the lanes when it is crowded. They definitely need a larger establishment because the store is always busy. Overall, I highly recommend shopping here — just be patient during busy times.”

Walmart just launched Realm, its new 3D online shopping platform. To help you visualize what that means, imagine a virtual mall packed with bright colors, wacky landscapes, and cartoon avatars wandering around. Realm lets you browse "digital doubles" of real Walmart products by navigating through several make-believe worlds. "We believe this is the future of commerce," said Justin Breton, who leads brand experiences at Walmart. "It won't replace our website or app, but will complement them."
Target's new low-cost brand Dealworthy is rolling out this month in stores and online. With items starting at under $1, it is aimed at budget-conscious shoppers. The low prices on basics like phone chargers, paper plates and underwear will likely appeal.
Walmart is growing the number of its physical stores across America. The retail giant announced plans to open 150 new U.S. stores over the next five years while remodeling 650 current locations. This ambitious plan shows Walmart is still confident in real stores, even with online shopping booming. The chain currently operates over 10,000 stores nationwide.
Popular Florida-based grocery chain Publix is venturing into uncharted territory - Kentucky. Come 2024, Publix will unveil its inaugural Bluegrass State locations, comprising six stores sprinkled between Louisville and Lexington.
