Their knowledge turned what could have been a simple walkthrough into a deep-dive into the agricultural and social history of Broward County. Sitting in the restored 1920s classroom—complete with the original inkwells and creaking pine floors—offered a profound sense of nostalgia. The entire campus is beautifully kept. From the 1909 Pioneer Home to the authentic Seminole Chickee Hut, every structure feels alive with history rather than just a static exhibit. The staff’s dedication to preserving our heritage is evident in every corner of the property.”

The staff is very accommodating if you show up and have questions but generally admission is limited to members and their guests.”

There was an enormous amount of food trucks for every taste, plus activities for the kids and very organized parking. Both kids and parents were able to have plenty of space. One of the standout aspects was how well the event catered to children of different ages. The music was also perfectly curated—a fun mix that the kids loved while still being enjoyable for the adults. The staff was incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout the entire event. They went above and beyond to accommodate our add-ons, including flowers, butterfly wings, and a bubble machine, which really helped bring our vision to life. Overall, Creating Me exceeded our expectations in every way. If you’re looking for a unique, beautiful, and well-run space for a children’s event, I highly recommend it.”

She is incredibly patient, encouraging, and highly talented. She helped me see music in different ways, which deepened my understanding and appreciation for piano. “For anyone exploring the downtown area, this historic pioneer village along the Riverwalk is a mandatory stop that offers a stunning contrast to the modern skyline. The campus is anchored by the breathtaking 1905 New River Inn, which proudly stands as the oldest surviving hotel in the county. If you look closely at the architecture, you will notice it is constructed from hollow sand-concrete blocks molded on-site. This is a fascinating piece of early engineering originally designed to keep the building cool in the humid Florida heat. Beyond the magnificent Inn, the shaded grounds are home to two exceptionally prominent historic residences. Visitors can take in the elegantly restored 1907 King-Cromartie House and the beautiful 1905 Philemon Bryan House. These structures are connected by well-maintained brick pathways and shaded by massive, mature oak trees. When planning your visit, this waterfront campus serves as the perfect starting point for a broader tour. You can easily explore the village first and then continue your walk east along the paved promenade. Access is incredibly straightforward because they have their own dedicated parking lot right by the houses. As a great practical tip, this lot includes accessible parking, and it is completely free if you have a handicap placard. While walking the exterior grounds is a wonderful experience on its own, taking the time to purchase admission and view the indoor exhibits is highly recommended. Give yourself at least an hour and a half to truly appreciate the scope of the property. Whether you are a dedicated history buff or simply looking for a peaceful detour during a waterfront stroll, this beautifully preserved village is a phenomenal educational asset right in the heart of the city.”
