“These people will unload you fast !! Be patient for the paperwork. But after all you will spend less time here than most places we go to! These guys were awesome , probably the best people i delivered for great small place came in with a hit trailer that was challenging getting into with a forklift the bed had lifted up a bit and the lead guy was a great help trying to get the product out. While most places people would act funny to even try ???”
“Normally I eat hunts brothers pizza out of desperation. Today when I broke down next to this store I thought that was the case. But it wasnt. He asked me if I liked spicy, and then loaded up the pizza with all the garlic, parmesan, oregano, and red pepper flakes. This might be the only hunts brothers pizza in america that actually tastes good.”
“This is the nicest and largest dollar general I've ever been to. Workers and manager are super nice and helpful. They have 3 aisles just for home decor, a decent wine and beer section, and they even have fresh fruits and veggies. It made my day honestly. Best DG I've ever been to!”
“This is literally the best option that I have for fresh food in a 10-minute (a little over 10 miles) radius of where I live in the middle of nowhere. Dollar General is closer to me and honestly a bit more higher quality, but it lacks a lot of things, making this store a necessity. Hitchcock's is a bit expensive, and you have to be really careful with looking at dates on prepackaged food. I once bought potato salad from the deli that was several weeks out of date, which is honestly bizarre, considering how many people shop at this location -- I would think they would have problems keeping stuff ON the shelves... I've also been quite disappointed by their hot food (fried chicken was greasy, salty, and flavorless). But hey, it's all that a lot of us have, and it's open late-ish, so that's something. EDIT: In January 2025, shortly after I submitted this review, I went to Hitchcock's to get shredded cheese and ended up almost buying a pack that had expired in November 2024... ? However, I take back what I said about their fresh food. I haven't had their fried chicken in a long time, but their tenders and ribs are outstanding, as are their coleslaw and potato salad. This is honestly a pretty good store for what it is, and like I said, it's the most convenient option that I have for fresh food, so I honestly can't complain much.”
The Cincinnati-based supermarket giant will open about 110 new stores in fast-growing markets by 2029 and introduce three updated store formats, executives told investors Oct. 20 at the company’s Investor Update in New York. Kroger already runs about 2,700 stores in 35 states. The formats come in three sizes, a bit like small, medium and large, matched to each market. Mary Ellen Adcock, Kroger’s executive vice president and chief merchant and marketing officer, walked through the lineup.
Walmart shoppers want a head start on the holidays, and money explains a lot of it. Some 44% of respondents call affording the holidays their top stressor, and 61% say holiday costs shape their shopping mood. Asked what would make the season easier, 70% picked lower prices and 57% picked more deals and promotions. Convenience ranks lower: 30% want one-stop shopping across categories, and 20% want faster delivery.
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
