“John's Pass Village & Boardwalk in Madeira Beach is a fantastic spot that captures that classic old-Florida charm—it's like stepping into a lively, historic fishing village right on the water. This place is consistently ranked as one of Pinellas County's top attractions, and it's easy to see why: the waterfront boardwalk is perfect for strolling, people-watching, and soaking in the salty air, with shops, entertainment, and unbeatable views of the boats and Gulf beyond.

One of the biggest highlights is the **great food scene**. There are tons of excellent options for fresh seafood and casual eats. The Boardwalk Grill stands out for its delicious, reasonably priced seafood—think perfectly grilled fish, shrimp, and other Gulf favorites. Nearby spots like Crabby's On The Pass, Pirates Pub -N- Grub, Hubbard's Friendly Fisherman, and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. offer everything from crab legs and oysters to fun, laid-back vibes with tiki bars and outdoor seating. Whether you're craving a quick bite, ice cream from places like House of Sweets or Yogurt City, or a full meal with waterfront views, the variety here is impressive and the quality is top-notch.

Don't miss the **VFW Post 4256** right there at John's Pass (12901 Gulf Blvd). It's a welcoming spot for veterans and locals alike, with a relaxed atmosphere, drinks, and sometimes live events or a menu of solid pub-style food. It's conveniently located and adds a community feel to the area—great for grabbing a cold one and chatting with folks who appreciate the military history.

Overall, John's Pass is a must-visit if you're in the Madeira Beach area. It's family-friendly, full of character, and has something for everyone—from shopping and dining to just relaxing by the water. Highly recommend spending an afternoon (or longer) here—you won't be disappointed! ????”

“Every time I patronize one of the adjoining businesses there is some good live music happening here. The tables and chairs are always well maintained and they strike the happy balance between having plenty but not crowding up the space”

“Largo Village Shopping Center is a quiet treasure in our community, filled with places that bring both joy and connection. One of my favorite stops is Daddy‑O’s Smoke Shop—a fascinating little store full of character, creativity, and all sorts of curiosities. Even just wandering through is fun and uplifting.

Right next door is Panai Thai, which I can wholeheartedly recommend. The food is consistently excellent—rich with flavor, fresh ingredients, and made with great care. But what makes it truly special is the warmth of the people. The service is thoughtful and kind, and every meal feels like a generous offering.

A few doors down is Seminole Music, a place where kindness and knowledge meet. Whether you're a musician or simply curious, the staff welcome you with such genuine interest and support. It’s one of those places that quietly restores your faith in people.

There’s also a lovely French restaurant tucked in the plaza, where the food and ambiance are both elegant and comforting. The people there, too, make the experience feel personal and gracious.

And rounding it out is Planet Fitness, a great wellness space—especially for seniors. They accept SilverSneakers, which makes fitness more accessible, and the hydrotherapy massage tables and deep massage chairs are a real blessing. It’s a gentle, welcoming place to move at your own pace and feel supported.

This shopping center may not look flashy on the outside, but it holds a lot of heart. With good food, good people, and small surprises that brighten the day, it’s one of those rare places that feels like a community. ?????”

“This place is great! Yes, it's a little more expensive than Walmart but they have BOGO's every week and the store is really clean. AND....they always have helpful clerks and people stocking shelves. AND... their deli is terrific and they make the best sandwiches!”

“Rejuvenation Station is in this shopping center and my massage therapist, Shelley, gives the BEST massages! She's personable, attentive to my needs, and genuinely cares about the whole person.

Southie Coffee is in this shopping center also. They have delicious coffee with great choices. I've not tried anything other than their coffee but they have great food options as well.”

“Went to William Dean Chocolates. Impossible to have a bad experience with the product. One thing I do not like is getting pressured via receipt to give huge tip for 2 minutes of someone's time.”

“My experience here was a positive one. The car I went to see, and ended up buying, was exactly as advertised. Sergio was friendly, straightforward and honest. They have their own service shop and go over the vehicles they sell to be sure they are mechanically sound and clean. I’m sure if I have any unforeseen issues, they’ll help me to take care of it. Definitely recommended.”

“Some good restaurants and some decent ones and a couple that leave a lot to be desired. The choice of places to eat is limited. Their Medical suppy offers a good selection of products and more than one option, those working are very nice and helpful.”

“The prices are OK and the Publix name carries most of the weight because it's known as a great place to shop. The hot foods are something to write to your mom about and the fact that you don't need a special saving card to participate in the sales are also a good thing! However, the deli has a limited selection, and I thought the place would be larger for some reason. Still, good prices, experience, and value for your dollar will keep ?? people coming back! Me included!”

“Lots of variety in stores...no spirit this year though.
Update: they are putting a Napa store in here where the spirit Halloween store was a few years back.”

“Oak tree plaza is where Ollie's. Dollar Tree, Boleys Thrift store, and Youfit is located on 9th Street No. Just West of Tyrone Blvd. I go there frequently because it's in the neighborhood, so it's convenient for me. The Dollar Tree here has cold food freezers unlike other Dollar Trees so you can get Dairy and Ice Cream.”

“Friendly staff and members. Lots & lots of gym equipment, some of it older.
The main workout area is not as bright and lit up as at other, newer LA Fitnesses.
But over all great fitness center.”

“Best part of this Walmart Grocery store is it is small yet they often have 2 (or more) registers with cashiers open. The flip side of the coin as with the majority of Walmart stores is the number of employees doing "absolutely nothing." My thought process is the Walton family is preparing for the future. Once those of us north of 60 years old get a bit older there won't be any human cashiers in their stores. Personally, I refuse to work as a cashier for them or any other place I am spending my money. For the size of the store they have an excellent selection of products I purchase. Somewhat sadly I must say Walmart has many of the items that are much more expensive at the competition. All in all except for the manager's tendency to watch me standing there to cash in or purchase lottery tickets. Then they don't do their job and send someone over. When I finally get them to make eye contact they FINALLY, seemingly reluctantly, get an employee over to assist me. There's one brown haired, early 30 something female who refused to look in my direction. I walked by her and stopped. Made her look at me and told her, "if I come into this store and see your face I am going to take your picture. Making sure to get your name tag in my photo that I will send to Corporate Headquarters. Have a nice day."”
