After inquiring about the sale item, she explained it was a clearance item and unfortunately already sold out in this area, showing me online how I could verify this. Christine was fanstsitc. She asked me questions to assess both my budget and needs and then showed me several options that met what I needed. After showing interest in a mattress that was only slightly higher than the clearance item, as a repeat customer, she offered me a bundle that included the box springs at no extra charge to close the deal. I was already late for another appointment and asked if I came back would she still honor the deal. She would but was not in until the day after. After finishing my other appointments, I was ten minutes away from the store before it closed. I called and asked Christine if she would be willing to wait so we could finalize the purchase today. She said to come on over. I arrived a minute after closing and Christine was waiting for me. She quickly process the transaction and, observing I was disabled, offered free delivery and set-up. Christine went above and beyond to provide me with outstanding customer service. I received reminder notices about the scheduled delivery. Gabriel and another man arrived as promised and set-up the box springs and mattress on my awaiting bed frame. Both men were professional and friendly. This entire transaction was so easy and unlike so many other places, there was no pressure, no nasty upsell tactics, delays or delivery issues. Bob's Discount Furniture is growing while its competitors shrink. The Manchester, Connecticut-based retailer reported strong fourth-quarter results in its first earnings call since going public in February, with revenue climbing 8.2% to $648.8 million. Full-year net revenue jumped 16.8% to $2.4 billion, and net income rose to $121.7 million from $87.9 million the prior year. CEO Bill Barton told analysts the company plans to open about 20 new stores in 2026 and sees a path to more than 500 locations by 2035, roughly two and a half times its current 209-store footprint across 26 states.
Wayfair is testing a new, smaller store design. The online home furnishings giant, famous for its endless digital catalog, is trying a different strategy for its physical locations. The company announced plans to open a smaller prototype store in Columbus, Ohio, scheduled for late 2026. Located next to the Polaris Fashion Mall, the new space will span approximately 70,000 square feet.
Online furniture giant Wayfair is setting up shop in Atlanta with plans for a huge 150,000-square-foot store opening in 2026. The new location will take over the former Walmart space at The District at Howell Mill shopping center. This marks Wayfair's second big store, following its first location that opened in Wilmette, Illinois, in May 2024.
