“Nice City, downtown is clean, drivers are courteous in allowing pedestrians to cross at crosswalks. Roadways are busy, good restaurants, all in all a very enjoyable time.”
“Pam was incredibly helpful with an injured baby raccoon. She guided me in contacting animal services in order to contain him and allowed me to bring him into the rescue after hours. I am so grateful to Pam and grateful this rescue exists. Thank you Pam and company ❤️”
“I love going here. Sometimes there are a lot of people which is fine. Watching the birds as they come and go is very relaxing. If you do stay past dark you will see all the bats as the come out as well.”
“I’ve adopted 2 cats from St Francis in the past. I just adopted Lily and she’s such a sweetheart. The volunteers at St Francis love their kitties and care for them as if they were their own. Joy and Jane who helped me made sure I was a “ good cat mom” and I am so happy I passed. The adoption fee is extremely reasonable and Lily has made a very smooth transition into my home. Even my other cat has warmed up to the new arrival very quickly. If you are looking to adopt St Francis is the place to go.”
“This is a PUBLIC PARK - kayak launch (there is a private glass bottom kayak boat tour that launches from here- there is also a free community kayak program that launches from here), fishing pier, Sarasota rowing crew practices out of here and you can’t use the fishing dock when they have practice, picnic tables, restrooms, beautiful park - they do rent for weddings. They hold many community events. Their mission and approach to saving land is IMPRESSIVE! Go to their free lunch and learn presentation to learn more about them! Get involved by volunteering. I am amazed at this hidden gem! They also have a popular family friendly festival in April as well as other events!”
“One of my favorite places in Venice. Love to treasure hunt for anything from housewares to furniture. Staff is wonderful and the place is clean. Weekly specials of 25% & 50% off could make a real bargain.”
“I met this organization years ago in homestead at a military appreciation event . I admire there resiliency and determination to help !! They are great — sincerely , an ex wife of a wounded warrior”

“I’ve recently re-joined the Moose at this lodge. It’s wonderful…not once have been there solo when some nice person has engaged, struck up a conversation with me. The bartenders are terrific….food TOO!
It’s my go-to place in Venice.
Lastly, if you’re not aware of Moose Charities, please look it up…might be the finest place to send a few extra bucks if you’re in a generous mood!
THE MOOSE DOES GOOD…LOTS OF GOOD!”
“They have always been there during my worst moments of life, being homeless with nowhere to go with my children and they’re (unlike any other church or nonprofit) who jump out of their seats and get you motel vouchers that day. They’ve truly been a blessing to my family at our worst times and I’m truly forever grateful for their support and quick assistance. Thank you and god bless all of you.”
“I had an absolute wonderful experience with the Womens Resource center. Staff is very kind and genuine. I utilized there Ask An Attorney Program, where I was able to receive free legal counseling. I was able to file my divorce on my own and represent myself in court on my own as well! Thank You again Womens Resource Center.”

“Besides our business we also run a 501c3 nonprofit animal sanctuary. Waste to charity has donated so many much needed items to our nonprofit. They have helped to make the work load for all the volunteers much easier. We can’t say enough how much we appreciate them. The staff especially Cristy is amazing. If you are a nonprofit in south Florida be sure you reach out to them. You won’t be sorry.David Burns, co-founderFarmhouse Sanctuary”
“Just found this place today and it felt like walking into a treasure trove. One of the best little thrift stores in the area, and the staff is super nice. Highly recommend checking it out”
“Words cannot express how wonderful this group of people has been in supporting my efforts to make sure my brother has quality care for his eyes/vision after a debilitating stroke 9 months ago. Members of The Lion's Club were responsive, supportive and made sure care was provided in a timely manner. Nothing slipped through the cracks, they were attentive and caring. Wonderful support for the community of Venice, Florida!”
“Wonderful spot so close to beautiful white sand beaches, restaurants, shopping, museums, entertainment, etc. 3 heated pools with hot tubs, 80+ clubs, and friendly faces around every corner!”
“This store is very well organized and clean. Friendly staff! But the real reason I am posting this review, is because I had called the store one day to see if they carried an item. Melissa answered the phone and I had asked if they had the item there. She wasn’t sure and placed me on hold. When returning to the phone, she said they did not carry the item and suggested that I might try another store that would carry what I had asked for.
The item was not the usual thing you would see or find at a Goodwill Store, it was a shot in the dark and thought I’d call before I went. Melissa has the customer service skills that most stores lack, basic customer service! True gem! Thank you Melissa for saving me some time today, which I don’t have much of these day!
Happy Customer! ?”
“This is one of the smaller community retail and donation center location. Although it's not one of the larger locations in the services chain, this location North of Venice in Nokomis, along Rte 41 North. A donation area and retail sales store are on site. Clothing, linens, household decor, appliances, electronics are the majority of the items available. A small selection of literature is in store, as well as smaller home furnishings. Household and kitchen items are available and a smaller display case for jewelry and a collection valuables can be found adjacent to the cashier's counter. The smaller businesses location still maintains an assortment of merchandise, even when limiting the size of the merchandise. Customers can always find the unexpected items, while finding women's, men's and children's apparel. The constant rotation of donations keep the ever changing selection available for new arrivals. It's proximity to south Sarasota offers a better local footprint.”
