Your money is not safe at Truist... writing on behalf of my 80 year old mother who is legally blind. There was fraud on her account which she reported by phone mid September - but getting no resolution, I reported again by phone 9/27 and she in same day at this branch. The Truist rep looked at her account which revealed multiple charges from Chicago ( and mom has not been anywhere in years) and said "your account looks fine". Mom pointed out the charges to which she said dismissively "you'll get your money back". She was wrong. We went 3x to the Colonial Branch with many phone calls and emails in between. We went back to this branch in November to speak to branch manger who was actually very nice and the only person to seem to care. He called fraud on our behalf and when we heard back from them a week later- they denied her claim citing it was past the 60 day limit. Only a few charges were past the 60 day limit from the original call mid September. Most of the charges were small and for restaurants in Chicago-and should have been flagged. When you add them up- they total nearly $3,000. This is the only bank I've ever heard that did not reimburse for charges not made by the account owner. Your money is not safe here -it feels like it's their "MO".

Your money is not safe at Truist... writing on behalf of my 80 year old mother who is legally blind. There was fraud on her account which went undetected by her because when Truist took over, they stopped sending her paper receitps (which she used a special device to read). She reported fraud activity by phone mid September and when they did nothing. I called 9/27 and my mom went in person same day. The Truist rep was dismissive and when my mom pressed she looked into her account and said "it looks fine". When mom brought up the multiple restaurant charges in Chicago the lady said in a rude not comforting way "don't worry you'll get your money back". She was wrong, they did nothing so we went to the Colonial Branch 10/14 and 10/27 to report the fraud again and then again 10/28 where the manager filed a complain and finally gave us a case number. It's fair to say the manager was not happy to assist. A week later mom got a rejection letter citing the claim is outside the 60 days. A fraction of the charges were outside the 60 days but most were not so we went back to Michigan branch where the manager was actually helpful and agreed that these charges should have been flagged (multiple small charges from June- September in out of state restaurants, many on the same day. My mom has not left Orlando in 15 years. He tired to help but the claim was still denied. Long story short- your money is not safe at Truist... if their is fraud on your card- you will not get reimbursed like you would at any other bank. If Truist does the right thing, I will be happy to with drawl the review.

I’ve banked with Suntrust (now Truist) for more than 25 years. I worked at this branch when I was 20 years old. Today, my mother came through to deposit cash into my account for me, as I am sick and unable to go to the bank. The deposit was for $400. Because my mom wasn’t on the account, they would not accept the cash deposit. They said she could go get a money order and deposit that, but would not accept the cash. The policy makes absolutely no sense. If she can literally take the cash and get a money order, what’s the difference? This feels like banking overreach, for a place I’ve chosen to store MY money. We will be looking to move our accounts after more than 25 years of banking. I refuse to support policies that are counterproductive and feel like harassment to the customer. Customers are why banks exist in the first place….. Without them, Truist is nothing. If someone wants to deposit cash into my account, please let them. Your job isn’t to manage my money, it’s to protect it.

Longtime customer. Things are changing after the merger, and customers must adapt, too. The staff remains top-notch, with friendly service. Wish they'd restore FICO scores online!

The worst banking experiences (yes plural) I have ever had. A run around with bankers that stand together and talk about how no one wants to handle a particular clients folder. That’s how they approach ALL tasks before them.Super unhelper Bankers., it doesn’t matter if you have an appointment, you will sit in their dirty furniture for 35+ minutes waiting. I had to leave without being serviced. It has taken me over two weeks of effort and FOUR visits to close 3 business accounts. And they’re still not closed. Their system is backwards.said she couldn’t help me because she had a 2:00pm appt. It was 1:45pm. I wish my guy had said that to someone instead of making ME wait earlier in the week. 2:00 came and went no appt showed up for her and she still didn’t wait on me. Which is fine because she and her office smelled of cigarettes. Gross.I have sold my business and they tell me the ONLY way they can close the account is to cut a check to the business (says Alejandra). Well I repeat for the 100th time the business is closed. We can draw out all the money and leave enough money in to cover the pending charges. (Say Xabier) great, I said, but shouldn’t you freeze it or something so we don’t get charges. “I can’t do that”Well, leaving it open resulted in more activity both in and out. (Imagine that.) which means more pending charges. And I still can’t close it. One of the accounts overdrafted and produced several fees. These I had to come back in and get removed. It’s like no one really understands what their job is and how to proceed. I do not recommend this bank for BUSINESSES.You can draw it out little by little (says Alejandra) why would I want to do that.).there’s not much I can do says Alejandra. She is the worst. She about brought the person before me to tears. And me she just infuriated because she spoke to me in such condescending way.In her whiny voice…Are you Sure you want to move the money into the other account?Yes. Then that’s what you want to do? yes. … move the money into the other account and come back the next day to close it? Yes. And you HAVE to come back if we move the money today. Are you ok with coming back tomorrow. Omg lady, YES. After the fourth affirmation to her I finally walked out of her office. No one should have to put up with her sh!t. No one wants to be treated like they’re an idiot.I was only going to close out the inactive business account. Now I’m closing them all. Thanks to Steve and Dawn for FINALLY getting involved and assisting me with a helpful professional attitude.

Great service, answered my questions. This is a busy are and a big branch with many customers but the attention by staff is very good compared to other banks. Clean and organized, very well managed.

I reported a fraudulent purchase literally minutes after it was made, and they refused to reverse the pending transaction. They blamed their insurance company, saying it doesn't count as fraud because I fell for it. Your money could not be less protected.
