⚠️ STAY AWAY FROM ADT ⚠️
I was an ADT customer for over 5 years, and this was one of the most frustrating service experiences I’ve ever had.
For over a month, my front camera was not working. ADT scheduled two separate service appointments, and both times I had to leave work early to be home. When the technicians arrived, they said “We have no record or information about this issue” and simply told me to call customer service again — then they left.
Their internal communication is absolutely terrible.
After a full month of being given the runaround, I finally canceled my service. They tried to keep me by offering $100 for a 1-year contract, which I refused. I was clearly told there would be NO cancellation fee, yet they still sent me a bill after cancellation.
Even worse, they continued billing me even though the system was not working and after the service was canceled.
This company wastes your time, gives false information, and has no accountability.
Unprofessional, dishonest, and not trustworthy.
❌ Do not use ADT. Do not recommend ADT to anyone

I added the expensive connect app and equipment and had to re pair it when it went off line. I needed a replacement screw and they can not help me so I had to use tape…that is ridiculous!
An update 12-10-2025 The local Executive in Jacksonville has arranged for a service tech to come out and help me with the screw this Friday that changes my rating

I’ve been with this service for a month and a half. I explained to the guy when I first signed up that I’m getting ready to move. He said that won’t be any problem that is taken care of now that I’m ready to move. They’re requesting 150 to take the equipment down 250 to put the equipment back up at the new home. I paid my monthly bill auto Pay I just feel like this is a big rip off. I’m not satisfied with the service the camera system. It goes out all the time I get charged $35 if the alarm goes off or the electricity goes off, I should’ve stuck with the ring cam

This is the absolutely most dishonest company. They quoted me for a discount on some cameras last year. They changed the quote saying that those cameras won’t work on the day of installation for the outdoor told me I would just have to buy outdoor cc cameras, which I obliged. They are the absolute worst cameras ever. You cannot see anything in the dark. They have two tiny little infrared lights. They tricked me into a 36 month contract for a “maintenance plan” for $378 a year. Last year, the sales person told me that I would not have to pay for the one year warranty if I didn’t want it. A year later I am charged again for it and they quote that it’s $500 to cancel the contract. On top of that, my original quote was going to be for $65 a month for all the cameras, but they changed that because they billed me for two separate accounts. To sum it up they charged me $2700 for the outdoor cameras alone. Plus an extra 375 last year then again this year I have one more year on the contract and they want $500 to end the contract early. Which is more than the actual contract. Worthless outdoor cameras. Plus, I still have to pay $65 a month for the indoor cameras in which the initial payment for those was 2100.

This is not a direct hit to this office.. it’s to the company as a whole. Worst security system I have ever had. Constantly my cameras aren’t working, it’s confusing to use- they bill you for their mistakes and it takes forever to get things resolved. They have sent people to my business more than 4 times that had NO clue what was what- had to call for backup- all the way around a complete disaster. I do not recommend ADT.

This company installed a security system for my elderly mother with dementia and paranoid delusions. She lives in a senior living community. Her building requires a key to enter and her front door obviously requires a key, as well. The installer did not ask the front office for permission to install a security system. Whenever a security system company is asked by an elderly person who is living in a senior living community, they should be smart enough to ask someone in the office. I spent 87 minutes on the phone, trying to get this rectified. You cannot call the local office. The call is forwarded to the main number. I got transferred SEVEN times.

One of the most dishonest companies around. Paid for service and equipment at my rental for 1.5 years. Was told I’d get 500 dollar credit and that should cover a lot of the equipment needed. I come out with a 2500 dollar bill for equipment.
I then move to a house I purchased and get charged 1200 dollars cancellation fee. When speaking with ADT, they say the fee is automatic and will be refunded. It’s been 2 weeks and still no refund. They also said, since I had the old equipment and they cannot remove it and put it on the new house that it will be credited to the account and I’ll get updated equipment for free. I’m assured that it will be free. It was only 750 dollar credit so I get charged 1400 in equipment as well.

Very dissatisfied with this authorized dealer. Use at your own risk. Very unprofessional and not informative. They are unable to tell me where my main power source is located for my backyard camera. I am very upset and will be submitting a formal complaint to ADT corporation

Bought a new house . ADT called and we told them No, we did not want them . They just won't stop. Coming to the house calling and sending mail. No means NO !!!

I had ADT services in my store for several years, when I had to change security companies ( in order to be in compliance with inusrance) it was a complete nightmare! I hassled with them for months to disconnect and get a proper cancelation. I was billed for 3 months, while I was in a contract with another company already. They refused to give me a refund for the months billed because there were no notes on their end or in their sysytem logging the calls I made to have ADT cancelled. After being a loyal customer of ADT for roughly 8 years I am extremely displeased with them and how they handle business. Especially trying to get out of their services, I wasn't even in a contract with them, I wasn't breaking any legal agreement. I simply needed services in my store they didn't have the capabilities to adhere for me to be up to code. I got the run around and never even received a confirmation of cancelation. I would not recommend ADT for any business owner! My assistant spent several hours for weeks at a time on the phone just hassling and being transffered multiple times from agent to agent, different departments, and all to be told there is nothing that can be done, no way of getting a refund for the months we were inaccurately billed for.

Battery in system died, and I was told go on Amazon and I can purchase one. For the amount I pay monthly it should be covered. If I'm required to change it they should have provided information on having to do this, and how to do it.

Tried to cancel ADT for my deceased Mother in Law.
After being passed through 5 different reps on the phone, intermittently being placed on hold for more than 20 minutes, repeating the pertinent information and reason for my phone call to each representative I spoke with, I finally was instructed to look for an email they were sending me and to follow the prompts, include the information I told the 5 different reps and include a copy of the death certificate, which I immediately sent.
A few days after my sending the email, I am informed via email that although they are able to cancel, the billing will continue till October 24th.
My mother in law had adt for many, many years and owned the equipment and was far beyond the time constraints of any initial service contract but they will continue to charge for another month.
Disgusting. These people are working for a company of greedy, blood sucking predators who take advantage of the bereaved and technologically impaired elderly. I will never use or recommend their services or products ever again.

My experience with having Ken as my ADT representative was outstanding. Ken made sure to respond to my questions almost immediately. He made himself available to support me with any problems I may have experienced. Ken went above and beyond with customer service and I will continue to be a longstanding ADT client.
