Bookstore1 is an excellent independent bookstore in the heart of downtown Sarasota. It is a wonderfully curated, old-fashioned bookstore with a great selection of literature, fiction, nonfiction, and kid books. The staff are friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. The store holds frequent author events, poetry readings, book clubs, and community talks. It also offers beautiful stationery, cards, and gifts. The atmosphere is a pure delight—quiet, clean, and full of that amazing smell of books. It is a great place to browse, enjoy, and support local.

I always find books I just have to have from here! Lots of chairs hidden in little nooks to sit in to take a peek through books and I love the reviews on sticky notes on a lot of books here.
