“I heard an unusual noise when I did a hard braking on I95. I knew it had been a number of years since I replaced my brake pads so I Googled to see nearby auto mechanics. Mike’s AOK Tire & Auto has 4.9 of 5 stars on Google and regular praise on the Nextdoor app so I called them. James answered and said they could take a look at 3 that afternoon.

I showed up on time, Mike put my car on a lift and James got busy removing all four tires. Then he called me over to show me the brake pads and said they should be safe for another 20K to 25K miles. He showed me the rusting on the rotors and said that they will be okay until it’s time to replace the pads. Then he did a quick tire rotation since the tires were off anyway.

Tires and brakes are among the most important safety components of a car so this was good to hear. Mike mentioned that the unfamiliar noise I heard was likely the anti-lock braking system (ABS) engaging. James and Mike are honest, efficient, and the shop was apparently running on schedule as a car had come off that lift just as I was arriving. I’ll definitely be using this customer oriented business again.”
