“We booked this hotel because of its location and free parking, which is very hard to find in downtown St. Pete. When we arrived we were so surprised (in a good way) with its rustic/historic interior and architecture! Everything is well thought of when it comes to what the guest will need. From the complimentary shuttle, onsite coffee shop/restaurant, and parking. Room was very clean and smelled so nice. This hotel is truly the definition of hidden local gem. We cannot wait till next our next visit to Tampa, this will be our go to!”

“This is a very nice hotel to stay at. They have wonderful amenities, the employees are very friendly & helpful and is close to the beaches and restaurants with a full healthy breakfast and the rooms are always clean. The Management team offer exceptional customer service, and any accommodations needed for individual stays and group stays. This hotel has a lot of history in famous people who have stayed here like Babe Ruth and Marilyn Monroe.”

“Hotel is renovating rooms now. Try to get a renovated room. I did not have a renovated room but it was still a nice room. Check-in is at 4 PM but I didn't get notifications after mobile check in until almost 5 PM that my room was ready. Rooms are functional and bed was very comfortable.”

“The Vinoy is absolutely beautiful! They’ve done an incredible job maintaining the historic charm of the hotel while incorporating modern, elevated touches throughout. We stayed for a girls’ birthday weekend and had a beautiful, spacious room overlooking the bay. It was the perfect setting for a much-needed weekend away! We spent a lot of time relaxing by the pool, and the service was fantastic. Marc took such great care of us throughout the day, and Aaron made sure we had chairs and towels set up and ready for us. Those little details made the experience even better. The food was delicious, the property is gorgeous, and the entire weekend felt special from start to finish. We’re already talking about coming back! Highly recommend The Vinoy for a girls’ getaway, birthday weekend, or staycation in St. Petersburg.”

“Pros: Great location, by the beautiful Fort deSoto Park, the beaches, etc. Sitting on the water, the marina. Pleasant, helpful, professional, welcoming staff (front desk Loretta, Penny, Tomas, Maya, etc., cleaning staff Connie & others). Clean building, rooms. Nice pool & gym. Thanks to management lead Chad Ingram. Cons: next door restaurant can be a bit loud but they're good at respecting time limit.”

“I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It definitely deserves 5 stars. The rooms and the entire hotel were clean, and the staff were very attentive, including the front desk receptionist. The breakfast was different every day and absolutely delicious. I’ve stayed in many hotels, and this was the first one where laundry was free, which was a great bonus. The only thing I would change is the pool—it feels a bit small for such a large hotel. However, it wasn’t a big issue. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay. It was comfortable, clean, and a great experience.”

“My friend recommended and went with him. Got my own room which to me was cute, from the decor, tv, shower tiny sink it was just right for sleeping for we were out most of the time. The hotel has 3 bars to hang out at a lovely pool area to hang out sun, swim, drink and listen to fun music. The location perfectly located to walk around and shop, eat or drink elsewhere. The whole area is alive with people, music and fun. I could hear music and the people outside from room but to be expected in a fun party atmosphere so perfect for me, what I wanted and needed. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Only critic I have no iron or steamer or ironing board, but I'm sure if i had asked they would have provided. I am bringing friends next time or just come back myself, it was just right and I enjoyed myself at Mari Jean every moment and the area was fun, safe and lively, just what the doctor ordered. Thank you David and staff I'll be back.”

“I loved everything about my room and the location except the mini fridge situation. It barely holds a few drinks. It is one of those plastic novelty mini fridges that you keep on the top of a desk or something in your bedroom when you’re 12.”

“I really don't understand the bad reviews. Our experience has been the exact opposite. Larry has been wonderful, we access our boat whenever we want or need to, and Larry is always outgoing and friendly. We have stored our boat with him for years without any issues whatsoever. Avilla De Costa RV & Boat Storage has ALWAYS been completely honest and fair in our 2+ years of dealing with them.”

“The rooms are clean, The daily rate is fair. Everything about the hotel is great. But the real gem holding the place together is the manager. Hotel work is not for everyone. You have to be a genuine person and understand social cues. The thing about hotels is you get all kinds of different people. Rich people on business trips. Struggling families who have been evicted. Drug addicts. Just all different social classes. My personal experience with our first stay here was stressful (Until the manager walked in) She immediately recognized I was struggling by the way I was paying. She asked me what was wrong and she diffused the situation even though I had started crying. She was very understanding and I hope she knows how much I appreciated her. The young woman originally checking me in was almost robotic. While my issue was 100 percent my fault. I had not realized a $100 deposit would be collected at check in and I had spent our last $200 booking the hotel online. We had traveled 3 hours to get here and even though I had asked to speak with a manager and I even asked if she could call the manager. The girl said she could not contact her. Our booking was non refundable. My husband began trying to take things back to Walmart while I started looking at all our accounts to see what I could come up with. We came up with 70 bucks. I again asked the girl if I could pay just 70 on the deposit and she point blank said no, even tho I said I could pay the rest the following day once a check clears in my account. We left and was able to come up with the whole $100. When we went back in and I started counting the change. That's when the manager came in and allowed me to pay only 40 on our deposit. Just like that, no questions asked. I was so relieved. All the upset seemed irrelevant and unnecessary at that point. I just feel, unless of course the girl was instructed not to bother her manager that the whole situation could have been avoided. The following morning my husband and I headed to the office. My husband grabbed the door and held it open for 3 quality inn employees 1 male and two females. They all walked past as if a guest just didn't hold the door open for them. It was bizarre to me.”

“It is a budget hotel so all I expect is just the basics and it certainly delivered that for me. The room was clean, all the appliances worked, no insects, or other surprises. This is an older hotel but with updates. I arrived late evening and the staff was great getting me registered.and into my room, and checkout was easy.”
