Let me start with the good. This is a shack with parking up front. Plenty of parking. Bathrooms are extremely clean. Staff is friendly and fast.
Cons. They only have outdoor seating. Most of the seats are stools without backs. There were some flies and a wasp lurking in the patio. Fans were blowing away my napkins. When I paid in cash they rounded my bill up to the next dollar. Never had someone do that before. $34 for a cheesesteak, potatoes, and small drink seems to be overly priced at a take-out spot. It would be more understanding if you could dine-in or had waiter service.
I ordered the Korean Cheesesteak with smashed fried potatoes and a Bourbon Peach Punch. The drink was tasty but really small to cost $10. It looked like a 6oz cup. I would prefer to pay $5 more for a full glass. The smashed fried potatoes were covered in a sauce and some of the best potatoes I have had anywhere. The cheesesteak was made with pork (also a new experience for me) and had plenty of cheese and onions.

Wild Heaven Beer Avondale & Al's Pine Street Market Kitchen
135B Maple Street, Avondale EstatesI gotta tell you, this place almost got zero stars because I about walked out after hearing the god-awful live music. A slice of rotten Americana pie. But then I saw Al’s food truck outside and stayed for the smoked chicken pops. GOOD LORD these meat sticks blew my mind. In doing so, they thankfully blew my eardrums as well. The juiciness and flavor overcame me and I heard nothing. The band didn’t exist. No suffering in the world existed at all. Only cracked peppercorn chicken pops existed. I ended up staying to order the sweet and spicy gochujang flavor next and those really knocked me over. These guys deserve a trophy for withstanding the acoustic assault to nourish and delight horrified bystanders. Five stars for Al’s Pine Street Market Kitchen. Do yourself a favor and order the chicken pops. Maybe bring earplugs.
