“According to the associate I asked, this store opened in October 2022. This is a larger DT, bigger than two of the three in Brunswick. They have some expanded departments over the three Brunswick stores, which was really helpful because I visited the Glynn Ave store earlier and couldn't find the gift tissue paper colors I wanted. SSI store had a nice selection and wrapping paper and ribbons in expanded selections that Glynn Ave didn't. I was also able to find reusable bags that I use in place of gift bags because they're stronger for heavy gifts, and last more uses than paper gift bags (which I know people reuse, but which end up creased and not great looking to reuse). I don't think I'm the only one to do this gift bag trick because the reusable ones are normally sold out, but there was a decent selection at this SSI store.I believe the Brunswick stores carry more food selections but the SSI store has a huge toy aisle, and very large aisles for other departments as well. It was extremely clean when I was there. Employees were friendly, and helpful.I'm glad for a DT on SSI, especially in an existing shopping center because years ago they were attempting to build in a lot that was claimed by St. Simons Land Trust as greenspace, and many are grateful that land got saved, but now there is a DT and green space too!”

“This store was exceptionally clean and very well organized. I was in and out within minutes. It was before 9:00 am and the cashier was warm, friendly and encouraging. Might not be what everyone wants but she made an impression on me today. Thank you for going out of your way to be kind to your customers and it's people like you that make stores successful. “Friendly staff, usually well stocked. Now that they've reverted back to the cashier having to check you out even at the self-checkout registers, there tends to only be 1-2 open registers open at a time.”

“Tucked away is one of the cleanest stores around. The manager is very friendly, her team is helpful and cheerful. They pay attention to their customers. No waiting in line. If 3 or more are ready to check out the other employee jumps in and opens another register. The shelves are always well stocked. The isles are free of clutter. Cant say enough about this store.”

“Had Salon Selectives full size shampoo for $1, which was perfect in a pinch on vacation after a Pollen-Food Allergy Syndrome reaction to the organic fruity stuff I brought. Store was packed to the gills as is standard for DG stores especially in GA and FL. Clean, well lit, staff doing their jobs but no one available on the floor and the guy at register was overwhelmed with lunch rush line.”

“Roses is a great bargain discount store in the shopping center with WinnDixie, ReStore, Tuesday Morning and Dollar Tree. Apparently they're a small local chain.The staff is very helpful and friendly, and informed about their products.They carry a little bit of everything, from home goods, to clothes, to automotive, sundries, hardware, food, toys, etc., like the 5-and-10 store of yore.Another store recommended Roses when I was looking for souvenir tee shirts for the Golden Isles. Yes, Roses had them, and a super bargain at $5 each!I bought a few $5 Jekyll tees, some bargains on Matchbox and Jurassic World toys, and some $1.50 striped beach towels I'm going to make into beachy throw pillowcases. I even found a $1 sewing repair kit I needed, and it was a huge bargain compared to the price at JoAnn's (Dollar Tree doesn't even carry these anymore).In addition to Suave and Softsoap products cheaper than Walmart, and isopropyl alcohol cheaper than Walmart or Dollar Tree, they also had 20qt stainless steel stockpots for only $16, an awesome deal! And decent quality flip flops for $4. They are definitely tailored for beach vacation rental house needs, and souvenirs, as well as local living too. As I said, a little bit of everything.Bought a bunch of stuff I didn't know I needed, and stuff I really needed at excellent prices! Went back two more times, new stuff each time. Love Roses!”
