“Large supermarket with wide range and best fresh fruit, veggies and salad section for out of main towns in Big Island. Fresh meat section good too and they had local fresh marlin and tuna plus Alaskan salmon steaks. Usual expensive Hawaii pricing but not more than others as far as I could tell.”
“The staff there especially Trish is very helpful, respectful and a delight to meet on the big island. The store is in a great location.Had exactly what we were needing for our vacation..Thank you.. Andy and Jenn”
“Visited Doris Place this past June during our family trip to the Big Island. We visited Holualoa during our trip to pay respects at a local cemetery there. Afterwards we stopped by a pleasant mom and pop small store called Doris. According to my wife's aunt, the store is named after Doris (who we also visited) who has run the store through many generations (she has recently retired). If you are in the area I recommend visiting Doris Place in a small little town called Holualoa. You will get good local community store vibes there.”
“Highly recommend KTA Keauhou. Excellent selection of groceries, meats, seafood, bakery, vegetables, fruit, Hawaiian souvenirs. Friendly staff and great location right off Ali'i Drive in shopping mall.”
“I don't know if it's the cheapest, but I stopped by on the way and bought some food. I was tired of all the salty food in Hawaii, but the salad here had no seasoning and the musubi wasn't salty, so I enjoyed it.”
“Oldest store on Big Island. 110 years old this year. Thank you Madeline Fujihara for starting such a Legacy store that South Kona can call their own with dried fish, musubi and dried banana...”
