“Love this place! I bought quite a few men's button up shirts from here. We love them, great quality and a great price! This story is so cute, we will be stopping in again, thank you!”
“One of the smallest but best zoos ive ever been to. As a tourist from kansas city this was crazy. They had peacocks walking around the zoo, a petting area. A lot of crazy plant life. And a white and orange tiger. Very cheap at only 12 dollars for non-local, adults. We uber ed from the cruise port up there for 15 dollars. Definitely recommend!”
“My favorite shop in Hilo for souvenirs, cute t-shirt's and Aloha wear. Great selection of items and reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Joy's is a wonderful shop! Check it out.”
“The chips here are SO good! After a minute, the shop owner came out to offer some samples, and I was convinced - they didn't have breadfruit chips when we came in, but I'll have to come back to the island for the ulu chips and some more taro chips; you've gotta try the adobo!!”
“A very helpful lady works here. I bought a hat from them last year and lost it at sea. She was very kind to look it up, find the exactly same one, and ship it to me”
“Great little place, full of interesting and unique gift items from local vendors and talented people. Staff was very friendly, they had the largest stuffed whale I've ever seen! Enjoyed shopping here, all the way from Tennessee!”
“My daughter is OBSESSED with gift shops such as this one. She was asking me for nesting dolls for such a long time and we were finally able to find some. This shop was the only place that had them. I bought a super cute butterfly costume here. And plan on dressing up my daughter as a chinese doll next Halloween. They have really cool stuff. I found a wind up carosel. Super cute! Next i'll be looking for anything fantasy. Anything fairytail. And i'll be on the look out for a ferris wheel next hopfullly one day i'll be able to find the cuckoo clock i've been wanting. I'm grateful for shops like this. I take my daughter for her rewards for good behavior. She loves looking around. Its her favorite place to go. My daughter loves dolls and toys that are not thebig box store kind. She loves anything that is tiny. Old fashioned type dolls that leave room for her imagination. Trinkets and nostalgic gifts are the best.”
“My favorite selection of locally sourced gifts and things. Cant go wrong. Love the hairclips, stickers, cards, stationary, accessories, jewelry, clothes, books... P much anything you want.
Also the community center they host next door is fantastic. We need more third spaces for hosting events and supporting lāhui.”

“LewisKoa Co. is an absolute must-visit whenever we are on the Big Island! Whether you stop by their Akaka Falls spot or the stunning new location at Hilo Bayfront, you are in for a treat. What sets this shop apart is that it’s a family-owned business that truly pours heart and soul into everything they do.
The craftsmanship of their Koa wood pieces is world-class, but what we love most is their commitment to the community. They partner with talented local vendors, ensuring that when you buy a gift or a keepsake, you are truly supporting the island's artisans. Beyond the woodwork, they have a mesmerizing selection of high-end crystals and souvenirs that make it a total treasure trove for collectors.
The best part of the experience, though, is the people. Tamara and Aaron are so welcoming and knowledgeable, they make you feel like family the moment you walk in. Every item we’ve brought home is a beautiful reminder of Hilo’s charm and the 'Aloha Spirit.' If you’re looking for authentic, premium quality and want to support local, do yourself a favor and check them out!”
“This is the most beautiful little store in Hilo HI, I fell in love with everything in sight. I bought what I could manage to take with me in my suitcase then promptly ordered more when I got home. Sadly, the post office had other ideas. I had to file a claim for the damaged parcel (international post). The amazing Mishi at Wild HeArtist went above and beyond for me with this claim. I am so grateful for everything that was done on their end to make sure I received my product after all. When I can eventually go back to Hilo, this store will be my first stop for all the things (and I will bring an extra large suitcase next time) - the lotions, scrubs and body sprays are absolutely divine (all hand made natural products and the amazing Hawaiian scents will transport you back in a heartbeat). Everything in this store is magical. Give yourself time to shop and take it all in.”
