“We were very pleased with Geri's concerns for what we thought we needed. She was patient, educational, and did not attempt to pressure us. VERY much appreciated.”
“Once in Hilo is a moderately upscale boutique with hand-made silk blouses, art crafts like koa wood pepper mills and wine stoppers, hand made (hilarious) Filthy Soaps, dish towels, jewelry and huge giant tikis. The tikis are for sale for either 9K or 10K (I forget) but they don't ship them for good reason. If you want those tikis, you gotta show up with your crew and have the help of several men to lift those gorgeous hunks of wood. Tiki carving is becoming a lost art. The lady in the store was super nice and friendly, attentive and gave a lot of history for each item I was interested in but I ended up not buying anything due to being on a budget, otherwise I would have bought that cool steampunk-looking pepper grinder for $125.00, or the amazingly awesome Tidepool Koa Wood Table for $2,650.00.”
“Wonderful experience! Shanna located exactly what we were looking for, and very quickly. Piece was delivered in excellent condition and is perfect for our needs. We will certainly call on her for any future furniture or decor items.”

“Ray and the incredible team at RK Woods made the most extraordinary custom Koa desk and table for our office. I've never seen such beautiful Koa wood graining and these are pieces that we will treasure forever! Mahalo mahalo!!”
“Such gorgeous, organic wood designs! This store is a lovely mix of affordable local arts (jewelry, ceramics, fabric art, etc) and high end furniture designs from one of a kind woods obtained through local arborists. The owner/designer Jonathan is wonderful to chat with; so worth stopping in to wander the display rooms and be amazed in every one.”
“On September 16th, when my husband's six siblings and I went sightseeing in Hilo, we happened to meet Asako, who worked at the store, and we looked into the store. It's a very nice shop with a great sense of style, stocking items such as hats and quilts that the owner has carefully selected and can only be found in Hawaii. Be sure to stop by when you go to Hilo. Asako-san, thank you for your kindness ??”
“What a treat to run into Bruce’s shop after shopping from his other beautifully curated stores in California (Berkeley and Oakland) many years ago! It was a wonderful coincidence and incredibly lovely to see him again and another beautifully curated shop in Hilo!”
“Moving from the mainland is a little daunting. Leaving everything behind and starting over. I met Kit and there was absolutely no sales pressure whatsoever. I found what I liked and Kit made it happen. Thank you for making moving here less stressful. Mahalo”
“I absolutely love Paradise Plants! I always end up leaving with more than I planned because they have such a great selection. Their plants are always healthy, and their pond plants have done really well for me. They also have the cutest whimsical garden and home knick-knacks that make the shop so much fun to explore. The staff are always so friendly and happy to help, which makes the whole experience even better. One of my favorite places to shop on the Big Island!”

“I ordered the custom pyrography platter from this wonderful business. I have long since admired similar works often found in hotels and store since I was a teen. I have been to the islands many times and owning such a work has long been a dream of mine. What can I say the platter is absolutely stunning and much loved. It also arrived carefully packaged so as not to cause any damage. I would recommend this business to anyone seeking out a lovely piece of art whether from home or visiting the islands. I was not on the right island when last I visited, but next time I am I look forward to visiting in person.”
“10/10 experience! Keli‘i, the owner, is the reason so many people keep coming back. My boyfriend visited his shop back in September and made it clear we had to stop by once I finally made it to Hilo—and I’m so glad we did. The shop is full of fun, unique trinkets, hand curated by Keli‘i himself. He knows the story behind every single one. When we visited, he was hand weaving bracelets and making leis right there in the shop—you could really see the care and effort he puts into his artistry and into creating such a welcoming space. Nothing compares to the hospitality you’ll receive from this warm and generous Hawaiian native. His passion and knowledge make the experience unforgettable. I can’t recommend this place enough—it’s an absolute must stop when you’re in Hilo! I already can’t wait to go back and visit again when we return to the island.”
