“The fellow working here is really helpful. It's a tiny cubicle of a post office; blink and you'll miss it. You need to make sure you bring cash with you, which can be hard to remember in our plastic society. The hours are also really short; gotta make sure you get there in time. And I've already received my packages that were mailed to the mainland. Great delivery price as well. I highly suggest coming here to take care of your delivery needs.”

“People hating on the USPS need to chill. It isn't a business, it's a government service. It is part of the baseline, rudimentary infrastructure that makes things run, like roads or emergency services. UPS, Fedex, etc. would not be profitable businesses if they were responsible for providing the services that USPS does, such as deliver mail to rural locations, provide low price flat rate shipping, and media mail. I agree that USPS could be more efficient and sometimes can be frustrating and slow, but we can't have widely accessible public infrastructure if companies like FedEx and UPS don't pay their fair share of taxes, underpay their employees, and only operating in regions which are profitable, leaving the unprofitable parts to USPS, our friends and public servants.”
“I had the extreme pleasure of being served by Faye last week, and the experience couldn't have gone smoother. She was about to step around the counter when she saw that I was carrying a heavy package but I ran up so she instead reached over the counter to pull it up. She then proceeded to very sweetly and patiently walk me through the entire process of sending the package to Japan. I can't remember when I've had a more pleasant interaction at the post office. She is a definite asset to the Kaimuki branch as well as the entire U.S. Postal system!”
“Service was efficient, particularly given the length of the line, and competent and friendly. It has everything that a post office should have, including stamps and mailing materials like boxes and tape and greeting cards. Also has a PO Box area.

There’s also a mail collection box on the sidewalk. Collected at 3 pm and 5 pm Monday through Friday, and at 2 pm on Saturdays”
“It gives me great pleasure to give Honolulu's US Post Office a special review as a tourist, who witnessed first hand great American Service. This experience began on Cartwright Street, when I saw the local postman delivering mail. I approached him and asked some simple + basic questions, his response was not simple nor basic. He was very knowledgeable about his occupation, location of Post Offices, shipping methods, and pricing.
I was taken aback by his response, but it didn't end there. When I arrive at Post Office his co-workers picked up right where he left off, with courtesy and kindness.

“I had an outstanding experience at this post office, and it absolutely deserves a full 5 stars. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt organized, calm, and efficient. The line moved much faster than I expected, and the staff worked with a level of professionalism that really stood out.
What impressed me most was how attentive and patient the employees were. Even during a busy hour, they took the time to answer questions clearly and made sure every customer understood their options for shipping, tracking, and packaging. It never felt rushed or dismissive. Instead, it felt like they genuinely cared about helping people get things done smoothly.
The clerk who assisted me went above and beyond—double‑checking my forms, suggesting a more cost‑effective shipping method, and making sure my package was secured properly. Small details like that make a huge difference, especially when sending something important.
The facility itself was clean, well‑maintained, and easy to navigate. Supplies were fully stocked, signage was clear, and the self‑service kiosk worked perfectly for quick tasks. Parking was also surprisingly convenient, which made the whole visit even easier.
Overall, this post office delivers excellent service with consistency, friendliness, and efficiency. It’s rare to find a location where the entire team is this helpful and customer‑focused. I’ll definitely continue using this branch for all my mailing and shipping needs. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a smooth, stress‑free experience.”
“I'm going to buck the trend on the other reviews and say that I for the most part enjoy the service that I receive at this post office. I can't recall the woman's name that's usually on the right side of the counter, but she's always been very pleasant and helpful. There are some upgraded storage lockers that I haven't used yet but overall the location is kept clean and presentable.”

“Just reminiscing, the photo of the bricks? There use to be a commune living building here, where you shared the kitchen and bathroom. Held a lot of people for I know. I used to live in it and every Mom had a place when it came to the children. Some worked and some babysitters and others cooks. I hope the post office people don't mind, matter of fact ?? I'm glad that they are here for this was a safe place to be, and so are they.”

“This post office is phenomenal. While it may have received some bad reviews in the past I wanted to update the ratings here. The accessibility of having this on base is not only great but I use it constantly and not only have great experiences every single time but also get advice on the best way to package whatever I'm shipping. Constantly I see people coming in to just say hello to the staff when they don't even have anything to ship out. Sure you have to park and get into the hospital to use it but that's a small hurdle to have the ability to use it's services. And again, the staff is AMAZING!”
“I love the convenient after hours of it being open for the working class. I usually can't make it to any post office but this location closes later at 8pm on weekdays! New discovery of this location has made it possible to get boxes out if need be. Service is great too, they are quick and friendly. There is a nice breeze sometimes too while waiting in line. :)”
“Such nice Post Office in Waikiki to mail off souvenirs. The attendant was very friendly and I must say probably the best looking Postman that I have ever seen in my life. I am sure if a model agent ever mails a package from there they'll offer him a contract. Aloha ??”
“Wow lots of complaining here but I've never really had a bad experience and I live here in Hawaii Kai and visit this post office regularly. Looks like most of the one star reviews are from pessimistic people who like to complain and therefore life gives them things to complain about. The rest seem to be people who don't follow instructions. Anyway, I think this post office and its workers are pretty great!”

“The gentleman at this location (middle aged Asian guy) deserves a raise! Overall just very nice, accomodating, and helpful as I packaged something to ship back home.
FYI - this location is a cash only one. Looks like that's the case with most USPS locations on the island, seems to be some kind of policy set recently.”
