OUTRIGGER Kāʻanapali Beach Resort is a beloved, warm, and friendly hotel right on a safe, swimmable beach with soft sand and amazing snorkeling at Black Rock. Its perfect location offers an amazing oceanfront view and is walkable via a beautiful oceanfront sidewalk to many fine restaurants, a high-end shopping mall, and everything you could want for the beach. The resort has a more low-key, serene ambience with a beautiful, tasteful courtyard. The hotel has undergone wonderful changes and renovations. The remodeled oceanfront rooms with a lanai are great, comfortable, and perfect in every way. Guests appreciate daily housekeeping without having to summon staff. The onsite restaurant is loved for its awesome food, sunset views, and live music nightly. The cultural center is a great place to learn about local history and traditions. Most staff are great, warm, and make guests feel like family, with specific praise for the valet and housekeeping teams. However, there can be front desk hiccups, including a painfully slow check-in process and occasional policy frustrations over items like lost towel cards. One particular Lei making class instructor was reported as being very rude, harsh, and not inclusive, which created a terrible experience for participants. Despite these occasional situations, the resort is considered a home away from home. Many guests have wonderful stays, would absolutely stay again, and are already dreaming of returning.
The rooms are comfortable but may need a bit TLC, but over well kept. We were there in the storm and lost power for a day, has no generator. The service was great and location is great.

Good price and amazing location. We were able to walk out to the beach every day. It is a resort so you'll have to rent everything and the food prices are high. We recommend buying chairs, snorkel/mask, umbrella at costco as overall it will be cheaper, even if you leave them behind. Great experience overall!
