“Nice rooms and view from patio. Spacious for 2 couples. Would have liked them to come clean and give us one towels more than 1x in a week stay. Pools and hot tub are ok but nothing fancy. Would have been nice if canteens were actually opened to enjoy.”

“Everything was pretty good. Though the rooms were a bit old. The service was ok, but didn't bring the requested things quickly, and sometimes forget. Location of it was decent too.”

“March 2024: very enjoyable 3 days in a cute drive in motel. rooms are very reasonably priced. ours had a nice little kitchenette. the bathroom was nicely renovated. most important to us: It was clean. don't come expecting pools and beaches, but if you are looking for a nice place to make day trips from, this will do nicely. many eating options within 5 minutes of walking, as well as a grocery. okay, it's not 5 Star eating. mostly small local restaurants. we would stay here again. one of the reviews I read included a complaint about making the tv work. first, why are you watching tv? second, all hotel tv systems suck. third, they have a laminated instruction sheet on tv use.”

“We have stayed at the Fairmont Orchid twice and have a trip planned for later in 2024. It's rare to go back to the same hotel 2 or 3 times but there is something that feels spacious enough that we have not wanted to go elsewhere. On our last trip we found a new, great amenity and that was to rent a 2 person Cabana for the last day of your stay since check out time is 11 and most flights back to the mainland leave in the evening, the 6 hours or so is sooo pleasant in the cabana. You can relax, shower, eat, change etc for mush less than the price of a room!”

“Excellent hotel for kids. Shuttle service reliability leaves room for improvement, especially considering its location. Confirmed w bell desk that it would leave at 4:30 (for an event where we were supposed to arrive at the Mauna Kea between 4:45 & 5) only to learn from the driver they were going to wait until 5 to leave. Had to get off and find our own way. Pretty frustrating. Otherwise, everything was awesome.”
