I felt it was important to come back and update my original review because I believe businesses deserve just as much recognition when they make something right as they do criticism when something goes wrong.
After my original experience, Kyle, a manager at FarWest, personally reached out to me and asked me to come back in.
He took the time to sit down with me, listen to what had happened, and most importantly, he validated why I was upset. From the beginning, this was never about trying to get something for free or gain more than what I originally purchased. The magnolia was purchased as a memorial for my mother, who recently passed away, and there was a lot of emotion and meaning attached to it. More than anything, I simply wanted someone to hear me and understand why the situation had been so disappointing.
Kyle did exactly that.
He listened without being dismissive or defensive, acknowledged my experience, and then went above and beyond to make it right. FarWest replaced the tree with something truly amazing and meaningful, and I walked away feeling completely different than I did after my first interaction.
As a small business owner myself, I know that mistakes and misunderstandings happen. What ultimately defines a business is what they do once they know a customer has been let down.
Kyle showed me the kind of customer service I believe in within my own business: listen, care, and when possible, make it right.
I was very critical of FarWest in my original review, so it is only fair that I am equally public about the fact that they stepped up and changed my experience.

I had never been here before, it's tucked a bit further back from the street, so I didn’t even realize it was there. They have a wonderful greenhouse attached to the building with a great selection of hoyas, many of them were already blooming! This is definitely going to be my new go-to spot for houseplants, and I’ll be recommending it to all my fellow houseplant enthusiasts.”

“I placed an urgent order for tiles online through homedepot.com, opting for overnight delivery and paying the additional delivery fee. However, I received an email notifying me of a day's delay in the delivery schedule. Upon delivery, only 18 pieces of tile were brought instead of the 18 cases I had paid for. I had the delivery on my surveillance cameras as proof. My attempts to resolve this over the phone with homedepot.com were met with frustration as I was put on hold and eventually transferred to an office that was closed for the day. Seeking resolution, I visited the Eagle Home Depot, only to find out that they couldn't credit me for the missing tiles and advised me to contact homedepot.com for reimbursement. This situation highlighted the clear distinction between homedepot.com and physical Home Depot stores. To ensure my tile installation could proceed as planned, I repurchased and picked up the missing tiles in Meridian where more were located, initiating a two-day ordeal spent communicating on the phone with homedepot.com. It was only after finally being transferred to the Boise Home Depot that I found relief. Steve Snead, whose assistance was invaluable, stepped in to resolve the issue. Steve's dedication, problem-solving skills, and commitment to customer satisfaction were evident throughout our interaction. He remained on the line with me, diligently coordinating with homedepot.com until the matter was satisfactorily resolved. Prior to encountering Steve's exemplary service, I was left dissatisfied and disillusioned with Home Depot, questioning any future big-ticket purchases from the company. However, Steve's exceptional handling of the situation has completely changed my perspective. His professionalism, attentiveness, and willingness to go above and beyond have reinstated my confidence in Home Depot. Steve's outstanding assistance has not only resolved my immediate issue but has also restored my trust in the company. Home Depot is fortunate to have such a dedicated employee, and I am grateful for Steve's exceptional support.”
