“I want to share my sincere appreciation for the outstanding service I received at Richton Park Mobil—especially from the manager, Tareq.
On Friday, March 6, around 7:00 PM, I found myself in a very stressful and potentially dangerous situation during extremely heavy rainfall. While driving through standing water, the front engine splash shield (underbody protection plate) on my car came loose—likely not properly secured after a recent oil change. The plate detached and began dragging along the road, making loud and alarming noises.
I pulled into the station, worried about how I would get home safely. Despite the heavy rain and poor conditions, Tareq immediately came out to help. He was incredibly kind, patient, and reassuring. Even while getting soaked in the rain, he carefully assessed the situation and used plastic zip ties to firmly secure the loose shield.
What truly stood out was his genuine concern for my safety. He didn’t treat it as a quick temporary fix—he took the time to make sure the shield was stable and secure, minimizing any further risk or damage. He double-checked everything and made sure I felt confident before getting back on the road.
Thanks to Tareq’s help, I was able to drive home safely without fear, loud noise, or additional issues. In such a stressful moment, his professionalism, kindness, and willingness to go above and beyond made all the difference. He didn’t just fix a problem—he made sure I was safe.

It's one of the gas stations I check first when gasing my car. They sell food off the grill and it tastes good. You see it made infront of you. The owner and staff as well as the gas station are a really good addition to the area.”

“It's really all about the 7-11. They have the best coffee and donuts! It might just be because there are so few options in Monee for groceries, etc., but the donuts there are always fresh. Normally the cashiers are friendly, but this one was far more interested in getting back to her phone and what ever it was that she was doing while I was waiting for her at the register.”

“Although I haven't had an opportunity to go in the store, I do buy gas there. Their gas prices are one of the lowest you will find in this area. It's as low as Indiana, QT (in Lansing) and Sam's Club (Calumet City). Gas at all of these stations are generally the lowest you will find and so is this Shell station. I appreciate there low pricing and that they are close to home.”

“I came in to purchase a drink and the store itself was very nice and clean. However, I observed an employee named Anthony F. being instructed to assist in the kitchen. Instead of following the instruction, he directed another employee (I believe his name was Brian, which he was working hard and assuring customers in a timely manner) to go in his place. It appeared unprofessional and dismissive of management’s direction. To be honest it seemed very lazy, I hope management addresses this to ensure accountability and teamwork among staff.”

“If you're far South and looking for competitive pricing on gas and freebies (yes I said freebies) you may want to stop by. I kept hearing the locals talking about the point program for gas and how this owner rewards regulars with random freebies just for being loyal so I was curious. My cousin lives in the area so we stopped by for gas. On this trip he saved 8 cents per gallon and his coffee and my snack was complimentary. The customer service is amazing and it's a place where everyone acknowledges each other. This is definitely a hidden gem in this area!”
