“A neighborhood staple that I just went to for the first time on Christmas Eve. I felt like the place hadn't changed since the late 80's/early 90's...a great feeling imo. Very nice selection of beers to choose from. The gentleman working the register was unassuming, laid back, while still professional. Every year the Christmas Eve party in my family is in Burbank, thinking of making it a point to stop here next year before the party.”

“The Liquor House in Burbank is an underrated gem for bourbon hunters and spirits lovers alike. This store is larger than most in the area (though not quite Binny’s size), and the shelves are packed with an impressive variety—from classic favorites to local gems and some nicely curated mid-tier offerings.

The bourbon selection is strong and well-rounded, featuring Buffalo Trace, Sazerac Rye, Old Forester 1920, McKenna, Elijah Craig, Woodford Reserve, Russell’s, Four Roses, Maker’s Mark, Uncle Nearest, and even smaller craft brands like Journeyman and Oak & Eden. Prices were very reasonable on daily drinkers and just a bit on the higher side for the allocated bottles behind the counter—but that’s typical these days.

What really made the experience stand out was the excellent customer service. The woman who helped me was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about bourbon. She didn’t hesitate to offer suggestions, and the store itself was clean, brightly lit, and welcoming—the kind of place you enjoy browsing.

While I didn’t ask if there was anything hidden in the back, it’s the kind of store where you get the feeling that building a relationship could lead to scoring some special bottles down the line. Whether you’re passing through or a local enthusiast, The Liquor House is worth putting on your rotation. I’ll definitely be back.”

“Oak Park Food & Liquor is a great neighborhood liquor store with a welcoming atmosphere and exceptional customer service. While their bourbon selection is on the lighter side, they have plenty of great daily drinkers and solid mixer options at fair prices.

What really stood out during my visit was the attentiveness and enthusiasm of the staff. The clerk went out of his way to help me find something unique and took the time to walk me through their selection. Even though I already had most of the bourbons they carried, his friendly attitude and willingness to assist made for a great shopping experience.

If you’re looking for a local spot with good service and a solid selection of everyday bourbons, this is a great stop. While you won’t find allocated bottles here, you’ll definitely find well-stocked essentials and a staff that genuinely cares about helping customers. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!”
