“Having lived in Japan, I always dreamed of having a Konbini in Chicago and Konbini & Kanpai made the dream a reality! They have an excellent selection of drinks ranging from non-alcoholic to alcoholic. The staff can match your palette to a drink in minutes and it will become a new favorite. I’ve hosted my birthday there a few times and the staff has always been so kind. The snacks are often ones I can’t get unless I’m in Japan so I love going there. They also have board games! Great place to hang out casually with friends, have a first or many dates, or just to pick up something for the party!”

“Amazing, just amazing. I was looking to pick up some beer since I was going to a byob restaurant down the street and Google let me to bottles & cans. This shop reminds me of a beer shop in Syracuse, NY and it brought back so many good memories. I picked up a 4 pack from the fridge. If you aren’t looking for cold beer, it looks like you can break the cans off if you wanted to create your own pack. Staff was very nice. So much beer, cider, wine and other stuff!”

“Lots of good alkohol brand names from all around the world. Try Jack Daniel's rye or select single barrel 131 proof. Very very smooth on front of tong and on back also. You have to take a breath first before you drink the shot or sip from glass and than brief out. Very flavor and smooth and than you will feel the heat going from mouth down to your stomach.”
“This is the first time I actually made a stop to purchase something at Gold Coast Market. I entered the market and I was interested in the selection of bottles they offered. I was a little skeptical because all of the bottles were behind the counter which was slightly disappointing because I like to scan and read labels. The stock seemed like it had better days but the gentleman behind the counter was very nice and an employee off duty stopped in looking for her sandwich. The clerk made it seem like someone took it but the shortly before the woman was to leave, the clerk revealed her food behind the counter. We All had a good laugh! So that put me in a better mood so I purchased a pint of khalua and a bottle of Tito's vodka to make white Russians. I also perused the aisles before I made my purchase and it was up to my local liquor store standards. Lots to look at and there even is deli on the west side of the street for sandwiches. Good look!”
