I need something smaller than they normally put out (weight-wise) and the butcher went into the back room, found another piece and cut it to size. Great bunch. Worst part is parking (they have a pretty big parking lot but they are almost always very busy).”

They have a huge variety of products, from farm raised to wild caught, USDA Select to PRIME , specialty meats like veal, lamb, ALLIGATOR!!!, kangaroo, bison, goat, venison, elk and so many ready to cook options that have helped me save so much time! The desserts are delicious too! The layout of the store is easy to navigate, the store was fully stocked and clean??”

“I've eaten here so many times since 2010 when my brother moved to the area and it never disappoints! It was a lucky find as he was getting to know his new neighborhood and thank God he shared it with us. We've eaten in, gotten take out, but no matter which one we choose they always give great service. I've tried brain tacos from them (that surprisingly taste kind of like eggs), but our favorite is to order multiple pounds of the carnitas. It's SO good!! They give you fresh made tortillas, cilantro, onion, lime, and pico. Sometimes in the summer they have people right out front with different flavored Agua Frescas. If you're going to do carnitas be warned they do sell out, so try to get there early if you can. (Sorry my pictures aren't great this time)”

Trucks the easiest way off of 94 would be Pershing exit. Take Pershing to halsted. Turn into property off of halsted dock is behind building. When loaded turn left out of the dock and into the alley then first left take it wide.”

“This spot is def a hidden gem. Not surprised that it was not found on yelp. When you walk in through the front it is a store front, but the real magic happens in the back. Everything from menudo, to home made tamales, to tacos can be ordered in the back. If you enjoy real home cooked Mexican food this is the place for you. I started off with a simple but delicious bean taco. It sounds easy but there's an art to it and when I tried to ask how they made the beans the answer was simple "secret recipe." Then I moved to the main dish, menudo. What a joy that was, simmering and quite delicious and then I finished the meal with homemade tamales. Guys if you're looking for authentic Mexican food this is the spot for you. Ask for Lola when you walk in. Like I said think of this spot as a speak easy of food, hidden gem is in the back. You can also ask Lola about catering.”

He helped me right away, when I asked a few questions he was patient and answered them with the best of his ability. I purchased the boneless honey ham- an instant crowd pleaser! Also I purchased a pecan pie and cannot wait to try it! The bright ambiance and see through fridges and freezers made it easy to see other sides and desserts to add to my order.
