“Chris was amazing. Took the time to explain everything to me and was extremely friendly. I went to another place and didn’t feel comfortable at all. They made me feel comfortable to sell my coins which I knew nothing about.”
“A big shout out to Bill from Lombard Hobbies. He converted my DC Atlas Trainman® Plus NRE Genset II Locomotive to DCC. Awesome shop with awesome people. Thank you once again Bill for your help.”
“Amazing store, big selection of sports, non-sports, pokemon and mtg. Staff was nice and helpful. Cant wait to go back.
They also have a monthly raffle which you get free entries with purchases.”
“My kids brought in their coin collection and were curious about selling some. The gentleman who worked there was very friendly and took the time to go through the coins. My kids and I had a great experience and will definitely be coming back!”
“Very well put together place, amazing and friendly staff. That is very informative. They don’t have what you want they will get it for you. I went in there with my kiddos, and they even gave them little sample packs for them to get into it! Hope it’s appropriate to mention an employee Sebastian there that made the experience great and easy. I will definitely be a returning customer ?”
“Massive shout out to the folks at Fair Game. I stopped in on a visit from out of town and ended up having a wonderful, appropriately nerdy conversation with the two fellows working there at the time. Based on their recommendation, I bought the Arkham Horror card game and had it shipped back home. To be honest, I was skeptical of this game because I did not enjoy other Arkham Horror games, but I bought it anyway because I wanted to support the store. It turned out to be one of our favorite games.
It is such a pleasure to get to talk to people who know games and can make thoughtful recommendations based on a single conversation. If I lived in the state, this would be my go-to game store. If you live near La Grange, stop in, have a conversation, buy a game, and maybe go back for game night. You will be happy you did!”
“My buddy invited me to the launch of a new deck - it’s the second time I’ve been here. Let me say what a great experience- the owner/guy running the show is awesome and I was really impressed by the selection and incredible experience he provides.”
“Please ignore any one star reviews on my business. They are NOT customers of mine. They are people going to another business, a nightclub/restaurant in a different plaza without adequate parking, filling up the parking spots in front of my business, and refusing to move their car when I've asked them.”
“My niece is moving into a new home and she said she wanted to make it sort of country setting for her kitchen she wanted to do sports for her son and maybe a man cave for her husband and a girly room for her daughter. so I send her quite a few pictures of what Hobby Lobby carries and she was very happy . She's actually in Virginia now I don't know if you have a Hobby Lobby over there but she will be be coming in a couple of weeks to visit and she's probably going to be taking a whole lot back with her”
“Employees were very helpful directing me where to go. I had use of their wheelchair. I left my rollator at the desk, to use the chair. Upon returning it, another associate help me to my car, and made sure I got the rollator in safely. On an extra hot day, I appreciated their safety efforts. Thank you, Michael's!”
“Nice store for all kinds of kids stuff in Lombard. Lots of Dr. Who and marvel figures and toys. Prices were decent. Not many customers even on a weekend.Staff were helpful to look and suggest items.”
“Was very busy and hard to get help but after being there an hour with my kids I finally got help and was able to Purchase the slotcar I wanted/needed to race with my friend I'll definitely be back. They got a good little hidden selection of slotcars unfortunately they don't know enough to help other people ,with questions or carry new tires for the slotcars.”
“Store was enormous, clean and orderly. There was even a Halloween-appropriate terrifying noise going on in the back of the store. It sounds like a very large, angry animal was trying to break out of a plexiglass cage or something. Really put the Halloween spirit into the atmosphere. Will visit again. Best retail bathroom experience ever.”
“Excellent selection of beer and wine making equipment and supplies. Kyle is very knowledgeable and helpful with getting started, as well as advice on modifying recipes. Have yet to attend one of their brewing events, but the home brewer's day event was very fun and filled with welcoming people.
My go-to place for brewing supplies. Plenty of parking and just off St. Charles Rd makes it easy to get to as well.”
“I meet Captain Steve today the owner!! Him and his son Tom run the business.. if you're looking for anything vintage baseball cards, records, old model cars, and many many more things, you should stop by and check it out. Plenty of parking on the side street right next to the shop. Steve and Tom are friendly nice and not pushy owners!”
“First time in the Chicago area and long time collector of Charlie Bears and Jellycat. Upon a recommendation from a friend, I headed to Fairy Tales Inc. What a beautiful shop. Wonderful selection and the store associates are kind, helpful and patient. Very highly recommend checking this quaint store in Lombard.”
“Excellent knowledge base from all the staff I spoke to...got the expert advice I was hoping for! On site repair done while I waited.. will purchase from them again!”

“This was one of the best experiences I had purchasing something online. The product was just as described and it shipped quickly. The best part was seeing my daughter’s face when she saw her Frozen Jeep restored to its original glory, she actually thought it was a brand new one, The decals were perfect!”
“I had an excellent experience with Sarah in the frame shop. She reframed some funky mirrors that I picked up at a flea market a few years back. She took the time to take them apart so we could assess what needed to be done. She also preserved some backing that had a stamp from the original manufacturer. Sarah power! 10/10 will use again.”
“Hobby Lobby is still my go-to store to feed my hobby hunger. They carry a great selection of seasonal merchandise and offer money-saving discounts so I can buy all my favorite items.”
“An employee named Jeffrey helped me out ENORMOUSLY. I had a horrible experience with the GameStop at Riverside mall where they essentially refused to refund an insurance they pushed me to buy for my switch 2 (which I did not want). Jeffrey at Hodgkins helped me out quickly and easily and did not guilt trip me for canceling my insurance I was forced to pre-order a month ago. Actually an incredible guy, will only be going to this GameStop going forward. ?? Jeffrey needs a raise and recognition, actually the goat of GameStop. Thanks to him I will be coming in much more often.”
“My Dad was a coin collector since my grade school years. He had the good fortune of meeting Joe over 35 years ago. They spent about 25 years building their various collections together. Dad had a variety of coins but his prize collection was his Buffalo nickels. When he passed away he left that collection to his 4 kids. I had maintained a relationship with Joe and so took the Buffalos to him to have them appraised. Joe looked at each individual coin with his resources available to put a value on each coin. I had taken the collection to other dealers and they did a cursory look at the coins and threw out a number. Joe's attention to detail and what I felt was a very fair offer, let me know he is still the friend my father trusted for 25 years! Thanks Joe! ❤”
“They have a surprisingly decent selection of board games considering their small footprint, and their prices are acceptable. You can usually find a good deal on something 10-30% off on occasion too, if you aren't picky.”
“Among the many philatelic (stamp) auction houses Rasdale is a standout.Their auction catalogues are worth the price of admission: lively and well written with just the right touch of humor. Even if you don't participatethey are a delight to read. I've successfully acquired many choice items fromthem. And if you are selling (far too common these days) you can rest assured their mid-western values and character will guide you painlessly.Whether you are perusing their extensive catalogue for elusive items for your collection, or selling dad's (or grandpa's) cherished stamp albums I cannot recommend them highly enough. PS-why don't you keep one of your father's albums for yourself? I think the kids would love pouring over it!”
“Hi, I am on my daughter’s account. I finally found some fabric. She always wanted to go to Walmart, but we’re telling her no but finally we find her a store that has fabric. Thank you so much!”
“Ultimate Autographs is the place to be. They are amazing. It’s fun, great conversation, definitely worth the price ( and it varies for anyone that wants to try it out) they walk you through the process and are patient with new comers, just an outstanding outfit. I recommend to any sport hobbyists to get on and check them out! You won’t be disappointed.”
