United Credit Union has a long-standing history, with members supporting the organization for over 35 years. Many appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, noting that employees often know members by name and provide patient service. The credit union is conveniently located in neighborhoods, making it easy for members to access banking services without long waits. Members express satisfaction with the overall service and prefer UCU over some banks with poorer service. However, there have been significant concerns from some members. One long-time member, now with Vicinity Credit Union, reports ongoing issues with their account since the transition. Over the past six months, their money has been disappearing, resulting in a negative balance of up to $475, and they are worried about losing all their funds before their retirement check. They criticize the high fees, such as a $35 charge for being just $1 short on a payment, and feel that their money is being taken unfairly. They have requested the CEO to address these problems directly and plan to contact the BBB. Despite these problems, others highlight the friendly service, convenient location, and benefits such as partnerships with car rental companies. Overall, United Credit Union is valued for its community-oriented approach, though some members have experienced serious financial concerns.
Branch manager was no help, still requesting financial documents for my moms nursing facility for Medicaid application, it’s their IT that’s the issue. It seems that’s a trend at all branches. Also us northern city people, it’s a disaster to go there and get no help and a lot of attitude… from the boss.
