“If you have anything really greasy that you need to get clean like an oven Hood this awesome sauce I call it is amazing! It cuts through years and years, layers and layers of Grease with ease! I've recommended it to many restaurant owners who still give me constant praise about this recommendation and it's found only at Dollar Tree! The staff here is polite and friendly and the store is clean. Room for improvement management could turn the air conditioning on 1 hour earlier so staff in customers aren't sweating the first hour of business.”
“There was this one old lady Victoria was her name gave us the dollar tree lotto ticket she was such a sweet heart and helped us save a dollar on party goods and gave us a bandage to from her pocket just overall she was the best and I hope she gets a raise!!!”
“Hello Tokyo is a Japanese dollar store, similar to Daiso. If you're not familiar with Daiso, rectify that immediately and find your local outlet. If you can't find a Daiso, find a Hello Tokyo. They have a variety of items you never knew that you needed, from toys to makeup to stationery. You can redo your whole kitchen with tons of gadgets and storage items. Camping supplies, pet supplies, food supplies. There's just so much to see; you could easily spend an hour or two just browsing. Quality stuff, good prices, friendly staff. Thumbs up.”
“This store is clean and fully stock with a lot of product. the staff seems very helpful. the prices are similar to others stores, they have been effected by inflation.”
“I love Five Below. I get all gifts and extras there. I love the cook books and the exercise equipment I can use at home. They have great deals on candy, soda, chips and other food items as well.”
“Evelyn is a treasure with a smile that lights up the store. Not sure why my past review is gone but it wasn't a pleasant experience. It's about her character that overfills to her work ethic and situational awareness.”
“Wow, impressively massive, vast even selection, and in the middle of ALL these other stores too! Dan was very nice. Coming back ASAP for buncha stuff Great environment they are cultivating ??❤️??”
“Dollar and More is a great store! It's the best kept secret in Mount Prospect. Great prices, quality merchandise, convenient location. I love their new website and social media pages on Facebook and Instagram!”
“Always clean and inviting here. The staff are friendly and helpful. Always well stocked with everything you need and more. The workers are amazing here always so attentive and professional and helpful there awesome”
“This is a huge one. Like the one i I once called home. (Florida. ) Found everything on my list. Tax is not too bad. No hidden fees when paying cash. Not sure on other form of payment. Wish they would put a DG by here.”
“Love this Five Below! The store is clean, well-organized, and fully stocked with fun treasures, from tech accessories and craft supplies to unique snacks. The staff is friendly, and self-checkout makes getting in and out a breeze. Easily my favorite spot for affordable gifts and everyday finds!”
“Five Below is above and beyond any expectation. They even have impressive hires. I cannot express how r8ddled with embarrassment I might very looked at returning a pore vacuum to this store. As the manager, cool inspected the device which had abruptly stopped working, I noticed that the oils and guuuck from my first attempt was still trapped in a suction cap. I offered to remove it from the return but she calmly reassured me that the device's integrity should have lasted beyond the first use and that it and what oily residue remained in the coil would not be kept for further inspection. She issued a refund for the full cost and even placed the balance on a gift card which I was able to use the same day. An issue of refund to the original card used for purchase mightve taken a week longer. Her five below transfer of the balance to a gift card allowed a preferable measure of timely resolution and made me a loyal give below consumer for life. Thank you thank you thank you. THANK YOUUU. I SWEAR. If you've never purchased there before, want something that almost Noone but a college student or fashionable adult is likely to carry in their bag or have as a conversatiknstarter in their home: Shop 5 Below.. they are above and beyond .”
“I always have the best experiences.when I shop there . It is family owned and all their staff are always helpful. So if in Melrose park shop at Dollar and day plus. Oh! They have slots!!”
“Visit on 12/03/2025 I had a wonderful experience at Dollar Tree thanks to the outstanding customer service from Danny. He is truly amazing—professional, patient, and always willing to help. Danny goes above and beyond to assist customers and makes sure everyone leaves satisfied. His positive attitude and dedication make a big difference. Dollar Tree is lucky to have such an upstanding employee!”
“Orderly store on a Saturday afternoon. When I first came I saw a sign that store was closed due to a power outage. But soon enough they opened the doors and I was able to get in and shop.”
“Shoutout to Lynn for great customer service. She thoughtfully separated my food from my cleaning products and even double-bagged the household items without me having to ask. She was polite, efficient and clearly attentive. It’s the simple things that make a difference and this really made my day.”
“One of my favorite places to go for some old-fashioned candy bars, assorted candies or some late-night snacks. The staff is always really nice to talk to. I think they have done a much better job clearing the isles. Everything seems to be in the right place now. The store itself seems to be cleaner nowadays.”
“cleanest bathroom I’ve been to in a public place, staff is very nice and they will most likely have the stuff you would need considering they are constantly stocking, great dollar tree!”
“Jessica I believe she’s a manager is amazing. She goes above and beyond. This location is farther from me but when ever I’m out this way I stop here! Thank you Jessica for helping me out today with my returns and exchanges I felt over whelmed and u made me feel better about the situation!”
“As a Dollar Tree it's solid, shelves are stocked and it's kept really neat and clean. The reason I'm giving it five stars is because of the wonderful, wonderful lady at the register! I wish I had asked her name but I just want her to know that I think she made everybody's day a little bit brighter and happier with her positive and kind personality! I'm coming back to this location even though it's out of my way simply because of how nice everyone is there ? Btw it's Thursday afternoon/2:30pm so the store knows about which employee I'm referring:)”
“THIS STORE IS AWESOME,I HAVE FOUND MANY GREAT ITEMS HERE FOR THE FRACTION OF THE PRICE,FROM WORKOUT GEAR,TO SUPPLEMENTS,YOU NAME IT YOULL FIND IT,ITS PROBABLY THERE,YOU JUST HAVE TO TREASURE HUNT.TAX ON EACH ITEM IS JUST A DOLLAR.I SPENT $65 DOLLARS ON SOME ITEMS THAT WOULD OF COST MORE THAN $90 IN ANY RETAIL STORE.ALWAYS PACKED FOR A REASON.GREAT DEALS EACH DAY.THE OWNER IS VERY KIND,FAIR AS WELL.PARKING IN FRONT OR NEXT DOOR IN HUGE PARKING LOT,ABUNDANT PARKING.”
“Thought this place was pretty cool, would’ve loved if the toys and collectibles booth was open or at least had some signage of when they would re open but the place was HUGE AND AMAZING!”
“I was driving home from a doctor’s appointment and my phone was about to run out of battery. I was waiting for a red light to turn green and busted a right into the parking lot. Never been here before, but very clean and organized was my first impression. Ended up getting a cell phone charger, along with some chips and water. Friendly staff, and had a good selection. Would visit again when in the area!”
“Great selection, the best I've ever seen at a Dollar Tree. Awesome staff! Tom, Jamie and the woman manager (didn't catch her name) were all great. They deserve raises. I spent 30+ minutes in the store and saw several interactions and all were pleasant, including mine. They assisted me with 12 balloons during a busy time and they were kind to everyone. Great location, selection and staff. Highly recommend.”
“They are always so nice and helpful... I would get a job there but I know I would spend my check there.. I'm glad they're so close I could walk there if I had energy”
“Not always find everything but I certainly do find things ?I'm here every week and in this store have the friendly staff...THANK YOU LORD FOR THIS BLESSINGS”
“I am giving 5 stars to the manager, tall cashier dude that's always present, and the older woman that typically closes because these workers bust their humps! To the contrary I want to say to the owner, general manager, etc I was in this evening around 6:48 pm. The cashier ( no name tag) wearing white jogging pants and a black top should be taught to not be holding a customer's money and texting... I wanted to scream from how unprofessional it was just standing there staring at her for what seemed like FOREVER to please put her phone down and finish my transaction. As soon as I walk up she's just texting completely ignoring me and my entire interaction was awkward. I look forward in seeing the manager whenever I walk in as she is incredibly helpful and pleasant and I could've right there and then called for her however she was busy putting the price tags on throughout the entire store trusting this young lady and this cashier should be written up. Next time if it happens again I will be certain to say something. If it were my job, I'd be out of a job, period. I did not appreciate spending $43.00 to give her $45.00 and wait forever to get my change that probably was about 3 minutes total just staring at her and she gave no care because obviously it's welcomed. I have seen the manager at this location train and she is stern, hard pressed while being gentle and extremely patient so I know it is not happening in her presence. We all have things going on at home, etc but that's what a break is for!! As a professional, please do not respond with, " I'm sorry to hear this. Please email me or please understand.... ( Whatever reason is given it is not good enough)" In my customer service career as a young cashier I had to learn the hard way by receiving a write up, having my phone confiscated by management until the end of my shift or being sent home without pay. I do understand that this generation is pretty much... RELAXED to a certain degree but it is common sense, " the customer service is the first contact, is responsible for creating that warm and inviting impression to keep customers coming back vs to their competitors, are responsible for adhering to their employment hand book guidelines of what is acceptable and isn't and the customers wanting to come back purchasing inventory is what creates profit and raises" Please, get it together. Give your Manager and the old lady a raise as they have been the consistent employees in that store since I moved to Wood Dale years ago. Stop hiring anyone and if you do ensure they have common knowledge of what is expected or train them properly so that these young folks understand.”
“No se como hicieron pero me robaron mi saldo de mi tarjeta de EBT teniendo yo conmigo la tarjeta y lo gastaron todo en su tienda, no sé si están coludidos o no pero no les recomiendo usar su tarjeta ahí.”
“I recently visited a Dollar Tree location, and I was genuinely impressed by how clean and well-organized the store was from the moment I walked in. Many people expect discount stores to be a bit cluttered or chaotic, but this Dollar Tree completely defied that stereotype. The floors were spotless, the aisles were tidy, and every shelf looked thoughtfully arranged, making it incredibly easy to find exactly what I needed without feeling overwhelmed. What stood out most was how neatly the products were grouped by category. Seasonal items were displayed in an attractive, easy-to-browse layout, while everyday essentials like cleaning supplies, snacks, and personal care items were clearly labeled and fully stocked. It made the shopping experience smooth and enjoyable, almost more like a boutique discount store than a typical dollar shop. The checkout area was also clean and efficiently managed. Even when a small line formed, the staff moved things along quickly, all while keeping their stations organized and free of clutter. That level of attention to detail really added to the overall positive atmosphere of the store. Overall, this Dollar Tree exceeded my expectations. The cleanliness, organization, and thoughtful layout made shopping simple, fast, and surprisingly pleasant. I’ll definitely be returning.”
“Overall 4/5 starts, great store low prices, some lady kept throwing stuff away that doesn’t work there, and someone said “she’s catholic, what do expect!” Which made me crack up. Great gag gifts and accessories, overall 4/5!”
Burlington Stores is giving its locations a major makeover. The off-price retailer has already transformed about half of its 1,115 stores and plans to complete the redesign across its entire fleet by the end of 2026. The company calls this makeover "Store Experience 2.0." Gone are the cramped aisles and confusing layouts that once defined discount shopping. Instead, Burlington is creating wider walkways, organized sections, and clearer signs to help shoppers find what they need.
Dollar General is adding more of its private label food offerings to stores, following similar moves by big retailers like Walmart and Amazon as store brands keep growing in popularity. The store is launching new items under its own labels, including ice cream, cinnamon rolls, coffee syrups, and salad dressings. The move comes as store brand sales reached $271 billion in 2024, up nearly 4% from 2023.
Daiso, the beloved Japanese retailer known for its variety of affordable household goods, is expanding further in the U.S. market. This week, the company is celebrating the grand openings of three new stores in Texas and California. On Saturday, Aug. 10, Daiso debuted an 8,000-sq.-ft. location in Beaumont, Texas, at Dowlen Towne Center, as well as two Southern California stores - a 6,319-sq.-ft. space in Van Nuys at Mid Valley Marketplace and a 5,200-sq.-ft. store in Westminster at Westminster Center.
Dollar Tree is moving into 170 former 99 Cents Only stores, marking a big shift in the discount retail landscape. The company announced Wednesday it's taking over leases in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas, with plans to reopen the stores under its own brand as early as fall 2024.
Ollie's Bargain Outlet just landed a great deal of its own, winning a $14.6 million bankruptcy auction for 11 former 99 Cents Only store locations across Texas. The discount retail chain pounced after 99 Cents Only abruptly went out of business in March, shuttering all 371 of its stores in California, Arizona, Texas, and Nevada. Ollie's quickly made an opening "stalking horse bid" to grab over a dozen of the empty properties.
